Seven Clean Sheets
Seven clean sheets in the PL for us and six with just one goal conceded. But for the refereeing at Leeds it would have been eight. If the defence continue their displays there is a good chance that Pope can reach the high level of clean sheets he kept last season when he narrowly lost the GOLDEN GLOVE. Pope is currently the top goal keeper in the Fantasy League, and on the best form I have seen him to date. He has now caught the eye of all the major pundits

I do too.
They are an absolute pleasure to watch when ‘under siege’.

Re: Seven Clean Sheets
If he’s actually looking for a goalkeeper, then yes I’d agree.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 6:57 pmEven muppet Southgate cant ignore Nick's claim to be Englands No1
I can only assume he isn’t, cos Pope has been consistently better than Pickford in the last 12 months and possibly more....

Think you will find John Stones also coming back into the reckoning after a spell in the "wilderness"

Re: Seven Clean Sheets
I do find it strange. You have to be an exceptional player to stand out in a poor team. Id say we are PL average, but still. Yet Southgate continues to pick those who play for the big clubs. The notion that you have to move to a big club to be given a proper England chance seems to be true. It just shouldn't be the case though. Tarks has been better than Stones for years. But I can see him waltzing straight back in...

Re: Seven Clean Sheets
Only due to bonus points, owing in large to the fact that we score few goals therefore more bonus points fall to our defense and GK.warksclaret wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 6:24 pmPope is currently the top goal keeper in the Fantasy League, and on the best form I have seen him to date.
5th for total saves. 65 v Johnstone's (WBA) 78
Tied 3rd for clean sheets. City with 10 & Villa 8
I wouldn't say he's quite hit last season's form.

Re: Seven Clean Sheets
I'm guessing that most of the current England squad play in European competition. Could this be a factor?Roosterbooster wrote: ↑Fri Jan 22, 2021 8:28 pmI do find it strange.
