Tonight's footy 22/1/21

Post by tiger76 » Fri Jan 22, 2021 7:27 pm

I know it's hard to believe after all the excitement last night, but there is a busy weekend of footy commencing tonight.

Chorley-Wolves is naturally the standout game, but there is also an important game in the Champ between Stoke and Watford with vital points up for grabs in the promotion battle, Vokes and Gray are on the respective benches in case anyone was wondering, and Deeney starts for Watford.

Chorley Wolves looks like one of those very one-sided cup ties that are a bit of a bore. I think I will opt for Stoke Watford.

Looking forward to the Chorley game. Yes it should be one sided but you never know!

Chorley gave Wolves a real game by getting at them from the off. Sadly, they lost out to a good first half strike which swerved all over the place when you saw it from behind the goal, however, they can be very proud of their performance and I wish them well.

Great effort from Chorley they pushed Wolves all the way, and can take a lot of credit to run a PL side so close.

Big 3 points for Watford puts them on the cusp of the automatic places, Norwich apart it's tight up there, so who'll take the 2nd spot is a toss of a coin.

Pitch seemed to hold up well at Chorley! Was expecting it to be a bit of a quagmire after the weather this week.

Groundsman and the club did a great job by getting the blow up tent-like structure to protect the pitch. The rain was directed down towards the perimeter and it certainly worked.
Full credit to Chorley for what they have done in this cup run, both on and off the field, they can be very proud of themselves and this is what the FA Cup is all about, such a shame that they couldn't pull it off though!
