I think you should rewatch some of his tours including the XL one, Monsters and Roadrunner and you will find most of his stuff is relatable tbf. "Does it feel like a Tuesday?" "I dunno how the eff does Tuesday feel" Hahaha many examples of real life stufffidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 6:33 pmBeing hyperactive isn't funny.

Not just that - somebody who I would put as somebody who is the last person to be stealing a living.DomBFC1882 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 6:24 pmReally? Sorry I can't agree with that at all. One of the best comedians ever without a doubt
He made his money and was good at his job - and decided to just be a good husband and father and never enjoyed the limelight. He's actually the perfect example of somebody who ISN'T stealing a living. Somebody who did well at his job and decided to escape all the crap that you see going on, and just be with his wife and kids.
If only more people were like him.

And his observations about Sports Direct, likened to a jumble sale. Obviously all about opinions, but he IS very funny.

Re: Stealing a living
With all due respect me just typing it is never going to sound funny. You mentioned that his material isn't real life stuff when it clearly is. If you've never heard someone say that to you at some stage of your life then I don't know what planet you're living on. His content on footballers earning 60k, 70k a week and how he would count every step £1, £2, £3 haha. Of course you're entitled to your opinion but he is definitely not stealing a livingfidelcastro wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 6:38 pmI've seen more than enough of him thanks.

Nope. I can't honestly say that I've heard anyone say "it doesn't feel like a Tuesday" to me. Your other example "joke" makes no sense, so I'm guessing you've mistyped... but whatever, I've always seen Evans as a modern day Norman Wisdom, whom I didn’t find funny either, but each to their own.

Lee Evans is brilliant, plain and simple.
I regularly hear people say that a day in the week doesn't feel like that particular day, especially during Covid and people are off work.

Re: Stealing a living
I'm not a huge fan of Lee Evans, comedy is very subjective. But touring the country doing stand up shows every night of the week isn't easy. He's obviously got a large following and he entertains them, so he's by no means stealing a living. That applies to about 99% of the celebrities mentioned on this thread though.
*Apologies in advance for not agreeing with you all.

Find Lee Evans bloody awful but each to their own.
Weird thread. Just because you’re not a fan, it doesn’t mean they’re stealing a living. Can’t do with McIntyre but he’s clearly good at what he does.

Somewhat surprising ageist digs considering your favourite comedy show is a good 15/20 years older than any I mentioned.

The travel correspondents/reporter on local radio; some
attention seeker texts or phones in that there is a hold up on the A777 or whatever road because a cow is giving birth in the middle of the road you get the picture, and they break off from either a song or an interesting article about the spread of gonorrhea in care homes and the presenter spends more time saying we have an emergency on the aforementioned road etc over to Roderick to give you the details, Roderick then reads the text that the sodding presenter could easily have done. Presenter then repeats what Roderick has said. Rodericks of this world stealing a living.

These people are good at what they do. Whether we like what they do is the real issue.
All those mentioned are technically very good at what they do, the material, or context might not be to your taste, but there we go, switch over to something else.
