Dyche out?
Dyche out?
Jason O’Connor has said new owners are looking at Rafa. Can’t see it myself.

Re: Dyche out?
2 things.
Who's Jason O'connor?
Rafa needs millions to spend to be successful long term, that's why he left Newcastle and why he was fluttering his eyelashes at them when the takeover was ongoing.

Jason O’Connor is the fella on Twitter who’s in the know on the Irish players. It’s obviously a load of rubbish but it’s worth mentioning.

Can't see anything anywhere that suggests this, and, Betfair have suspended betting on Rafa being Celtic manager

Rafa is the better manager but not for Burnley so no chance
Re: Dyche out?
Obviously this bloke on twitter is still labouring under the impression that the new owners have a pot to p1ss in!

I’ve been following him for a while, he’s been pretty accurate on a lot of the Irish links, I believe he broke both Brady & Hendrick stories.
However, this is one seems obscene.

Rubbish. This bloke has had too much Potcheen.
Re: Dyche out?
Somebody needs to tell this joker that Rafa isn’t Irish.
Never in a million years, and neither should it be.

I started following him when he was breaking a transfer. Can’t remember who but he was bang on. I still think he’s talking rubbish this time.

Re: Dyche out?
whilst we all know it's rubbish..........if the new owners want to build the Burnley brand then we are going to have to play far better footy than we currently do. I would hope they would give Dyche some more talented players long before they consider potting Dyche !

Did you actually watch Newcastle under Rafa, effective absolutely, but I'd hardly call them exciting.
And I'd agree Sean has earnt the right to show what he can do with increased funds.
I can't see the attraction for Rafa either, he's not going to win trophies at Burnley realistically, and he'd be in a similar position to what he faced at Newcastle, trying to keep an average team in the PL, but knowing in his own mind that they'd never break the glass ceiling of the top 6/7 due to financial constraints.
Re: Dyche out?
His previous form of correctly posting Burnley news suggests it is worth mentioning. It’s just this time it’s obvious he has got it wrong. Chill out Bob.

Re: Dyche out?
no, and that's not what I said as such. It wasn't really a reference to Rafa (or anyone) but more to the fact if they want to expand our brand we will need to score more goals for definite - the only way to do that is better players or a new manager (in terms of style of play, nobody will get more out of our team in terms of effort), my hope is Dyche is given better players rather than the other way around.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 10:38 pmDid you actually watch Newcastle under Rafa, effective absolutely, but I'd hardly call them exciting.

Re: Dyche out?
Yes I can see why the new owners might want a more expansive style of football, and if that's the case then fine, but they'll need to stump up the cash for the better quality players to deliver that more expansive style, however I'm sure they wouldn't want to sacrifice our place at the top table, for the sake of more entertainment, that's the tricky balancing act which all the clubs outside the top 6/8 face, Stoke potted Pulis for the style he played, and look at where they are now, and there's been plenty of other cases of owners thinking they can play like Man City and coming unstuck.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 10:49 pmno, and that's not what I said as such. Let's just say for arguments sake that there was a modicum of truth in it.
It's the beginning of the end when you start getting folk like Benitez in as manager of us.

Re: Dyche out?
Rafa Benitez is the biggest charlatan in football.
He tried to screw Ashley over for 10 million a season and he saw sense and sent him packing, replacing him with Bruce at a fifth of the price who got Newcastle finishing higher without all the crap that comes with Benítez at every club.
He then gets the massive pay day in a China, just avoiding relegation in a play off despite being the paid the astronomical salary of 12 million quid a year.
Now he has the audacity to blame coronavirus when the frigging pandemic is on its last legs over there.
The guys a tool. Always someone else’s fault. And he plays sh!t football. Can’t stand him.

Very much so. I was alerted to him when we were signing Jeff Hendrick in 2016. Otherwise he's a West Ham fan who just abuses everyone at that club in social media.

Re: Dyche out?
I have grave doubts there's any substance to these rumours, but in football these days nothing surprises me anymore, so who knows what strategy Pace and the other new directors have for the club, and you do often find when a new owner takes over they want to cement their vision on the club, and what better way than to change the gaffer, although doing this in mid-season, especially now Burnley have seemingly turned the corner in terms of results at least, would be rather a risky move, and if it went wrong their honeymoon period would prove short-lived to say the least.Nonayforever wrote: ↑Sat Jan 23, 2021 11:14 pmWhat a strange story.

Re: Dyche out?
It would explain a few things, but more likely to be Newcastle rather than Ourselves.
Re: Dyche out?
Rafa is more likely to go to Chelsea unless Frank turns things around.
