If you suffer from colds or feel poorly regularly then there’s an alternative opinion that you actually have a good immune system as it’s continually reacting on your behalf.

Might be a load of old ******** and doesn’t make you feel any better in the meantime, though.

Usually swear by a mixture of whisky, sugar and hot water. Supplemented by Ibuprofen, Lemsip and Lockets.
I say usually as I am usually down for a few months with a bad cold but as we are better protected than a Biological Weapons expert in a HazMat suit at work I haven't, touch wood; had a cold at all now for a year.

Vitamin c and d.
The hot toddy (alcohol kills germs and the glucose from sugar revs the system)
Mass dose of Echinacea for its immune system boosts.

Hi combat, I am currently in isolation as both my parents (aged 93 and 91) tested positive on Friday. Because of these "cold symptoms" I registered yesterday for a test at home kit and am awaiting delivery. Because of mum and dad's vulnerability I have hardly seen them for months, and even then mainly through an open window.

A very diificult situation for me and my sister as they need a lot of care and attention, despite each having 4 carers per day.
Hope your parents get through ok, very hard not to be able to help the people you love as much as you'd like. Hope you feel better soon

Chicken soup, made with the carcus ( remove bones b4 eating) .
Totally agree about the benefit of a v hot curry, so I would recommend this as well.
Prevention important as well. Take multi vitamins , plus if you can afford it, take hot lemon with manuka honey.

I have absolutely no scientific knowledge to back up this theory and no doubt somebody will tell me not to be ridiculous, but I'm interested to see if we get quite so many colds after the Covid vaccine, since the common cold is a coronavirus.

For the last 4 years I’ve eaten an apple every evening, in that time I haven’t had a cold. That may or may not be a coincidence.

Maybe there is something in the old saying.

‘An apple a day keeps the doctor away’

another vote for echinacea. also helps with my depression.

apparently supping a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar (with the 'mother' sediment) is a wonder remedy for all things but it makes me feel nauseous.
