Scott Parker
Looked shell shocked in his post match interview.
Almost Blackwellesque, after the Reading game.
I think he's just realised how big a challenge he has in keeping Fulham up, or maybe the realisation that he can't.

Re: Scott Parker
I don't normally mind him. He was a very good and somewhat underrated player and he seems a fairly pragmatic manager. He realises Fulham have chucked lots of money around, but he also seems to realise they aren't really good enough, especially in their back up players and it will take something special to keep them up.

Re: Scott Parker
Apparently they set up differently yesterday compared to how they now play in league games.
Mitrovich and Kamara were used as their forwards last night but they appear unsuitable for their Premier League matches as they use a more mobile arrangement with Lookman in front of Loftus-Cheek and Cavaleiro.
It will be interesting how we fare against them in the league.

He looked shell shocked because he had just seen Hector's imitation of playing as a centre half !!

Re: Scott Parker
AS per a few previous comments, I liked him as a player- one of those who a lot of the hard lifting and just gets on with it. Played a lot of games at a high level and a fair few England caps. Early days in his management career but a pretty tough job keeping Fulham in the league this time round.
He does, though, have the look of a London gangster from the 60s/70s, the type that "sorted people out".

Watching that shambolic defensive display from Fulham yesterday I would be very surprised if they survive this season.

Re: Scott Parker
When will owners ask the question : “ Yes I know he was a great player , but can he manage?”
And .... the next question to ask, just as Napoleon did when appointing Generals “ is he lucky?”
Neither Parker nor Lampard have shown the qualities for being top managers. I do fear we will lose SD when finally the penny drops.

I wouldn’t compare Parker to LampardSouthLondonexile wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 11:39 amWhen will owners ask the question : “ Yes I know he was a great player , but can he manage?”

Parker was first team coach at Fulham before becoming caretaker manager then given job permanently so has had some experience of handling players
Lampard went straight in as Derby manager with no experience.
As said, Chelsea only went for him as they needed a temporary cheap option to work with what they had

Re: Scott Parker
I think he is fine. Signs that with his first choice team he has addressed some of the defensive frailties which would have guaranteed relegation. They have plenty of attacking options and with a fair wind I think they will stay up. No doubt though that our 2nd XI is much better than theirs

Re: Scott Parker
Parker got Fulham promoted to the Premier League in his first full season as their manager. He then looks like he might get relegated putting up a decent fight in his first full season managing in the Premier League
Can anyone think of a Burnley manager with a similar start to his Burnley management career?

Re: Scott Parker
Done a good job at a club with a lot of egos. Hasn’t been afraid to call out players like Mitrovic, who, judging off yesterday’s showing, needs a giant kick up he arse. Interesting when you look at a player like Anguissa who looked to be on the way out of the club but is now one of their best players. Suggests he has something on the man management side.

Chelsea would be top 4 and more with Dyche in charge no ifs no buts....SouthLondonexile wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 11:39 amWhen will owners ask the question : “ Yes I know he was a great player , but can he manage?”

Re: Scott Parker
This Fulham side - at full strength - looks better than the one that got relegated two seasons ago
Not sure if they can survive because despite looking much improved in recent weeks the only two teams they've beaten are West Brom and Sheffield United. Brighton is a very big game for them.
Hope they stick with Parker whatever happens - as others have said he's served his apprenticeship and has probably done enough to deserve more time
The relative strength of our two squads is all about spending consecutive seasons in the PL and sensible progression - puts in a very good place compared to the teams currently below us

Re: Scott Parker
Theyve been playing well of late in the League and that was nowhere near their first choice 11 yesterday. I wouldnt read too much into their performance yesterday.

Good job too, because otherwise they would be below Sheff United in the table with 60+ goals conceded alreadyrandomclaret2 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 25, 2021 12:21 pmTheyve been playing well of late in the League and that was nowhere near their first choice 11 yesterday.
