He's just sulking because he didn't get the Chelsea job.

I do not blame him... if he’s on his way he will be the last to know, so why pester him about it?

I’d be telling them exactly where to get off if I was Bruce. Journalists and fans just love the smell of blood. I think he’s done a half decent job up there, it was never going to be a sticking plaster job to change the mentality and the fan opposition shown to him from day one. I think slowly but surely he was laying the groundwork but he will not get chance, the next one will roll in, rip it up again and start over... and they wonder why they never progress.

I had tea with him after Stan's Golf Day. Nice genuine bloke. Down to earth and has a high regard for Burnley and all those trialists from The North East. He specifically mentioned Mickey Wardrobe and how he'd expected him to make it.

He got unlucky with the covid. Losing St. Maximin and Lascelles hurt them.
I’m not complaining cos they look in deep trouble now.

That is for you to interpret to your own satisfaction. Differing perspectives can be equally valid in multifaceted argument.

Walked out of Wigan to go to Palace and then walked out of Palace after two months to go to Birmingham. Wasn’t long at Sheff Wed either before he left for Newcastle.

Oh I don’t think he has shown an ounce of loyalty to any club he’s managed. He has always been aiming at United I think and everything else has been experience, but he know realises time and inclination are against him and that Newcastle was possibly his best last chance of getting his name around Old Trafford again.

That’s true, Simon Jordan’s account of what actually happened is quite funny as it got told in the book be careful what you wish for.

Don't particularly mind who goes down as long as it's not us, but Newcastle are sinking rapidly, and it's only the fact that none of the bottom 3 can string a run of results together that's keeping them afloat ATM, I think they'll just have enough to survive, but it might be closer than many Geordies would like.

Not sure if you mean I contradicted myself, in which case reading two sides of an argument are not necessarily contradictory so much as balance.

What did you have?
Home made steak pie, chips and peas. Only modest as there was a banquet dinner down at The Turf that night. Great day; many big names turned-out for Stan that day. Still got the souvenir box with golf balls and other memorabillia in it. I was to be on my brother's bag but got the call to play when a chap went down sick. Steve Kindon was the celebrity in our four man team. When we got in and sat down for apres and tea, Steve Bruce joined us at the table. A most enjoyable day and, as I said, a really nice guy.

Don’t think he’s fondly remembered at Huddersfield either. Didn’t he go to Brazil to commentate on man utd halfway through the season?

I know he was the Huddersfield manager when we won there in 2000/01 but I think he lost his job soon after that.

I think your hopes will be dashed. Unless they have an upturn in form, and start to pull away from danger he'll be gone.
If they do go down, someone else will be in charge by then
