Great result for us and confirms that both teams are favourites with Sheff Utd to go down.

I think Wolves should be looking over their shoulder

Re: Today's games
Only downside was Palace getting 3 pts, but teams have to win sometime, but how bad are Wolves.
A big loss the sale of Jota, and Jimenez injury can't help, but are they really that bad, that they are reliant on one player. Some of the teams they have struggled against are also struggling. Considering all the hype Wolves and Nuno enjoyed, and the arrogance of a lot of their fans, it does make you wonder what all the fuss was about.

Re: Today's games
They've struggled since Jimenez got injured, and their goals have pretty much dried up, until they can solve that problem then yes they'll be in danger, I still think they've got enough of a cushion to be comfortable enough though.

Fulham don’t finish their chances and they keep very few clean sheets. It doesn’t matter how good they ‘look’ that is a recipe for relegation

Re: Today's games
They did get it to 2-2 at half time but then shipped a couple in the 10-15 mins after half time, then 3 more in the last 10 mins or so. They were either knackered or just gave up.

What happened with the rule about attacking players not allowed in the opposition wall for free kicks?

Re: Today's games
Arsenal-United doesn't exactly sound like a thriller, yet another overhyped fixture which lacks the spark it used too.
Hard too see anybody pushing City now they are pulling clear, too much inconsistency among the rest.

If you read the post Tony a draw was my preferred result. I am surprised you express such disbelief that a Burnley fan would prefer a Fulham win if it didn’t end in a draw . Should Burnley fans have something against Fulham because if so the reason has escaped me?ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 3:34 pmFor the life of me I can’t see why a Burnley fan would want a Fulham win

Both sides wanting a win , I’d be happy with a draw but if any side has to win I want Fulham. Anything to stop Big Sam ‘s influence getting any momentum

I can see the logic. Thinking that Allardyce could pull WBA together and climb out of trouble (at our expense). Ain't going to happen.

I think I put that in my original post bill and I didn’t want today to be the day he started to get some momentum going.
I agree like most that there is not much between Fulham and West Brom and both will struggle to survive.
The Allardyce Effect though is well known in football and the sooner its put to bed the better

Re: Today's games
Finished 0-0 at the Emirates, and the score doesn't lie it was a yawnfest. Pep will have his feet up tonight, and a broad grin on his face, because City are about to stroll to yet another title.
Saints-Vila will surely be better, Ings starts for Saints, and perhaps surprisingly Villa are unchanged from their defeat at the turf.

Because a Fulham win would have reduced our advantage over the bottom three by 25%.Elizabeth wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 7:00 pmIf you read the post Tony a draw was my preferred result. I thought it might be footballing reasons Tony.
Bit early for me to be taking such exact measurements with so much of the season to go . Maybe that’s because I’m less nervous than you

Re: Today's games
Precisely! and Fulham have still to play us twice, a win for them today, and the gap would have been only 6 points, plus Fulham are showing signs that they might be able to catch us, whereas West Brom have played 2 more games than us, and still have a 10 point deficit, so a win for them wouldn't have unduly worried us, whereas a Fulham win might have caused a jitter or two on here, as it transpired a draw is perfect for us, neither have really made up any ground, and neither look capable of making up the pretty large deficit they presently have.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 7:46 pmBecause a Fulham win would have reduced our advantage over the bottom three by 25%.

Re: Today's games
Draw has left them on 14 & 12, a West Brom win would have seen them go above Fulham with them on 14 & 13 so the draw looks the best result. Fulham on 16 points, while not causing any panic, wouldn’t have been helpful.

2min 15 cecs in.
Grealish hits the deck.
So sick of this - planting his leg infront of the other player(way out of a normal running gate) so they can't avoid contact - while his arms go out and down he goes.
What A Cheat.
What a Fanny.

Re: Today's games
Cash REALLY lucky there. No definitive angle to show he purposely handballed it
The one on the six yard box shows it hit his hand, but his back is to the camera, the other angles are too far away or the incident is blocked by other players

Re: Today's games
What is the point in VAR if they can't see that was a clear handball? It was as plain as day..i even thought so on first viewing. Beggars belief how Mike Dean didn't instruct a penalty. Southampton fans have every reason to rage over that.

Because the ref and VAR ref are clueless. You won’t get a clearer handball this season. It was a great save for a keeper.

That’s what they were looking for in the other angles. Seems there was enough to suggest it in the six yard box angle

I'm still not seeing the 'thigh' deflection.
His arm moved when the ball was played which would be enough for me.
