Re: Today's games
Keane starts for Everton, Gibson starts for Norwich, both games still 0-0.
Alex MacDonald has just equalised for Gillingham at Sunderland, is that the same lad we released a while back.
For those still fearful of relegation, a draw or a West Brom win is probably best for us, keeps us well clear of the danger zone.
The rest I'm not too fussed about, but as long as Luton bring home 3 points from Ewood that'll do me.

It is 'our' Alex McDonald, he hit the cross bar too with another effort.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 1:42 pmKeane starts for Everton, Gibson starts for Norwich, both games still 0-0.

Alex was sent off in the game against Sunderland earlier in the season for a horror challenge.Colburn_Claret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 1:49 pmIt is 'our' Alex McDonald, he hit the cross bar too with another effort.

Borefest buddy...the flying pig Pickford trying to keep out Wilson's header was pleasing on the eye though

Re: Today's games
76 minutes gone in the Norwich game, and they've yet to manage an effort on target.
Big goal for Bruce and Newcastle, but once again Everton spilling points in a game they should be winning.

Credit Newcastle. Most interested in trying to win a game I've seen from them in a bit.
But how crap are Everton.

How shite are both these sides? Everton have been awful. People complain about our creativity but they have looked less like scoring than Fulham did against us at weekend.

The only good thing about Newcastle winning is two more errors by Pickford
Re: Today's games
Like Mourinho, Carlo Ancelotti is well past his sell by date as a manager.

Re: Today's games
You put your money on a good forward to score for their second but Pickworth didn't make it hard for him with his positioning
Re: Today's games
Newcastle the better side from start to finish, Bruce changed the tactics and attacked Everton all the game and it payed off handsomely.Buxtonclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 2:18 pmCredit Newcastle. Most interested in trying to win a game I've seen from them in a bit.

Re: Today's games
Newcastle brought in a new senior coach this week who looks like he’s had an immediate impact.
The Geordies have too many good players to go down, key players settling in now after recovering from illness and injury . Its been their team spirit and effort that’s been missing this season.
If we are anywhere close to them at the end of the season we’ll be fine

Not a fault as such but the taller Nick Pope would have palmed it away comfortably.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jan 30, 2021 2:32 pmCan't fault Pickford with either goal today - but Everton were shocking
Looks like now is the time to be playing Everton unfortunately we don’t. Two terrible back to back home performances.

What result are we hoping for in the West Brom/Fulham game? Anything but a Fulham win?

Both sides wanting a win , I’d be happy with a draw but if any side has to win I want Fulham. Anything to stop Big Sam ‘s influence getting any momentum

Re: Today's games
Everton didnt impress at all; difficult, from that, to see how they're so high in the table. I have to guess it was just an off day but C-L & Rodriguez did little to live up to their reputations and the rest of the team didnt shine though Richarlson (little as I like him) did a few good things and looked busy.
Newcastle just worked hard and stuck at it, Wilson scored two decent goals and had one or two other chances too.
There were a couple of incidents (getting regular now) where players went down as if poleaxed when hardly touched. MIna got a vague brush from a players hand and went down like he'd taken a big combination from Mike Tyson. Later Schar went down all groggy after basically running into Mina's hand as he was pointing/gesticulating. Either would've embarrassed a mardy 6 year old kid.

Re: Today's games
Draw will be the best result for us, keeps both well at bay. We have still to play Fulham twice, and face the Baggies at home, so as long as we pick up a few wins against the teams down there we'll be comfortable, and from what I've seen from those at the bottom we've got nothing to worry about as regards relegation this season.

Re: Today's games
A draw would be best at WBA, it wouldn't do either much good. I think Fulham might win though, they've defo improved of late whilst BFS hasnt been able, yet, to work his magic on WBA>

Re: Today's games
why have west brom got a huge seating area banner with "THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD "
is that how desperate they have become?

It’s their club song/ hymn
Re: Today's games
I think it'#s fair to say that if West Brom lose today they have absolutely no chance of overtaking us.

Re: Today's games
So going off that logic next time we have a bad day at the office does it mean Dyche is clueless or "past his sell by date"?
I know he's had money to spend but i think most people would say Ancelotti is doing a good job at Everton.

Re: Today's games
West Brom are all over the shop at the back, no wonder they've conceded so many if this is how they've been defending all season, Fulham could easily be 3 up, and it wouldn't be flattering.
