Chelsea versus MIGHTY CLARETS

Post by IanMcL » Sun Jan 31, 2021 2:38 am

Early match so very early thread. Hope it lasts!

Another great opportunity for our heroes to shock the world of the rich and famous.

We really do have a committed bunch wearing the Claret & Blue. Thanks Sean and all the players. Keep going.

Let's do our stuff and will them to another victory. I sniff Europe!

Let's do this!

Up the Clarets

Who is going to start up front? Guessing Wood and JRod, hoping Vydra and JRod.

I've another tenner on our heroes to win today at 10/1.
It worked against Liverpool (16/1) and Villa (3/1)
If we don't win today, I'll not gamble again this season. If we win, there'll be a few quid going on us beating City!!!

Sod the money though, I'd be more than happy if we took a point today

Biden saying “don’t be surprised” if Vydra starts! :o

I’d go Wood & Jay, keep it tight, then a good 30-40 minutes for Vyds to pull the defence all over the show.

One goal in how many games? Still, with the way some people think, he's a shoe in now for the rest of the season.

More hump amd lump now instead of a bit of football.

More goals than the rest of the forwards put together but he had a good game at Anfield, played two massive parts in the build up to the free kick which led to the penalty. Superb on the first goal v Villa and then that brilliant header for the winner. He's our best striker who hasn't been as prolific but to consider leaving him out when he's clearly coming back into form looks very strange to me.

Disappointed no Brownhill in the bench, but delighted to see Wood & Vydra start together and Mumbongo on the bench again.

Let’s hope this is the start of a run of games for Vydra. What would be unfair is if he’s not cut the same slack and the other strikers and not given a few games to “find some form”.

Thought Taylor might have at least made the bench today. It's taking a while considering it's supposed to be a minor injury.

Nice to see Vyds get a start, but no doubt he'll be dropped for the City game if he doesn't score. Why is it different for Wood?

Wood can be extremely frustrating at times but he’s won us games time and time again. I did think he or Barnes should have been dropped 3-4 games ago. Dyche stuck with him and he hasn’t let us down.

Also interesting that Vydra gets a start on the eve of the transfer deadline when there’s been some whispers of a move. Is this a gesture from Dyche to say “you’re still in the plans”? He does deserve to be in the team regardless with his performances lately but that’s been the case in the past and Dyche hasn’t played him.

This is another ‘free hit’, so hopefully we’ll see a good performance and result to go along with it.
