Positives from today

Pope kept them down to 2.
Cork got another 90 minutes under his belt.
Mumbongo got a taste of PL action.

Is there any more, because I'm struggling beyond those TBH.

Positives are nobody is still sat in a car, coach, train on their way home.

I had a lamb dinner, the lamb was cooked to perfection, and my home made roasts in goose fat were exceptional.

The bonus is I've half the lamb left and a dozen roasts.

Supper or dinner tomorrow is my dilemma?

Ha ha. I said the same to my lad at FT. As much as we miss watching them live those types of, long, expensive days out aren't the best.

They looked very tired today but I was very impressed with the desire especially trying to make something of the free kick in the final minute. With a full strength side we may have kicked a point, or just as easily have lost 5-0.

Today and Wednesday are very much bonus games, Brighton is the real test.

Edit
I saw the before and after cooking of Macca's Lamb. It would have been worth breaking lockdown to sample some :D

As difficult a game as it was, I wish I was on my way home and able to have been.

Overall, no positives. Outplayed today by a much, much better team, simple as that.

We showed we could pass the ball around and control possession...

Not many positives if any today but it’s been a good couple of weeks.

Decent first half.

Tarkowski in particular and Pope and Mee had good games.

It's a tough fixture out of the way.

Clever management by their new man, playing the fringe players who were fresher, fitter and still good enough to beat us, especially both full backs scoring.

Once Tuchel has been working with a squad of that quality for a few weeks they'll be beating teams by bigger scores than 2-0 - and they still have to play everyone else around us at the bottom

Found 3 more to add.

Despite that defeat we're still 8 points clear of the bottom 3.
It's the last day of January.
And lastly I don't have BT, so I didn't have to pay or witness our dire performance.

We end today 8 points above the bottom three in a season where survival is more essential than ever before given the absence of match day revenue.

The game will have emphasized the need for AP to keep his feet firmly on the ground and not dream that we are going to become a a European contender for a long while yet.

We've won 3 of our last 4 games.
Scored 7, conceded 4.
Got 6 points from Liverpool, Villa and Chelsea.
Played 2 more away than at home.
After City we've got winnable games coming up.
Should have Taylor, Barnes and Brownhill fit for some of those games.

We kept it to 2-0 thanks to our organisation
Tarks, Mee and Pope proved they are very good PL defenders
We have now played Chelsea home and away, and got them out the way
Chelsea will take points off our relegation rivals
It confirmed Vydra is sadly not up to the PL requirements, and we need a right sided midfielder (JBG and Brady are not the answer)
Mumbongo showed there is some potential to develop

I was getting worried after 1 point in 6 games with a lot of injuries and an upset manager,.

Now we have 22 points after 20 games. We have 10 games left at home, and most of our long term injuries are clearing up.

We still have Fulham to play twice, as well as WBA and Brighton at home.

I thought we did OK, we defended well overall, some good periods of play especially in the first half. But Chelsea were just the better team in every aspect.

No concerns for me.
