Got to be a good thing surely. If the manager can manage, then why not

Re: Chelsea manager on shortlist for AFC Wimbledon job
Be interesting to see how this pans out.
I think the biggest issue wont be fans, it will be the players.
No reason a woman couldn't be a successful manager in the men's or women's league. Its obviously totally different to expecting a woman to be able to play at the same level as men. Two of the directors I work for now are women and they are far better than many of their male equivalents I've worked for elsewhere. It is irrelevant that they are women.
I do think in football though there could be a bigger challenge. A testorone fuelled dressing room full of egos - to be honest I wouldn't envy any woman wanting to take that sort of job! Good luck to her if she gets it.

She's turned the opportunity down citing it's an insult, Wimbledon can't afford her and she manages elite, world-class players at Chelsea. She doesn't know why anyone would think women's football is a step down in comparison to men and the football world needs to wake up.
She watches too much Sky Sports News, obviously.

Re: Chelsea manager on shortlist for AFC Wimbledon job
This is what happens when you don't let a sport grow naturally and constantly bang the drum in the media. It creates delusions from reality. If i was Wimbledon i would offer a friendly game against her Chelsea side and we will see how 'World Class' they are. Delusional.

I admire her enthusiasm but if we're honest, Wimbledon (men's team) would comfortably beat Chelsea Women's team.

She hasn't been offered one yet though.

Job offer obviously came at the wrong time for her in her career.

Wonder how it would work in the dressing room when male players are changing in front of their female manager?

Re: Chelsea manager on shortlist for AFC Wimbledon job
Just like the way a man manages a women's team at amateur level or at youth level
It''ll be professional, the team will arrive, they know to get in their kit before the manager arrives, he will make an announcement before he comes in - delivers his team-talk/tactics and the girls go out to the pitch, same at half time. Probably like the men's professional game - Sean Dyche never goes into the changing rooms apart from doing team talks. He makes a point of not going in - as he believes thats the player's domain.
Remember there are female medical staff such as doctors, physios and masseuses etc. Its professional atmosphere, not one of GodIsADeeJay's grubby haunts.

I'd be very surprised if AFC's academy couldn't comfortably dispatch them. It's a different game played to the same rules.timel0veandtendayi wrote: ↑Wed Feb 03, 2021 11:16 amI admire her enthusiasm but if we're honest, Wimbledon (men's team) would comfortably beat Chelsea Women's team.

Re: Chelsea manager on shortlist for AFC Wimbledon job
My impressionp listening to her commenting, is AFC Wimbledon's level is below her expectations of managing another team.
As in, 'I am managing at the top level and my skills are transferable'.
I don't think she is being an arse, just has ambition to go higher maybe.
