Sorry for your double loss. I lost my mother in October 92 years old (dad passed away in 1994) The three tunes played at her cremation were mainly chosen by her. Doris Day When I grow too old to dream. Perry Como Abide with me and finally Nana Mouskouri White rose of Athens..

ClaretAL and Funkydrummer, so sorry for the loss of your loved ones. Can’t imagine how difficult it is in these strange times.
I prefer a gentle piece of music like Samuel Barber’s Adagio for Strings or Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers. But so many beautiful pieces to choose from.

I'd like the section of messeians ascension where the clouds break and the guy gets lifted up to the skies. Fantastically powerfully.
I've heard it played after a wedding or two. If there were any relatives teetering on the edge, a rousing performance of that should help them see the light.
The only problem is that you need a proper organ or massive sound system to pull it off in a church.

Re: Fun at your funeral...
Do you legally have to comply with the conventional funeral arrangements ?
There is that advert on TV which now claims to dispose your remains without any sort of service at a bargain price.
Taking things further, surely, the family have the right to the corpse and, thus, can choose the method of (legal) burial ?
I take that thowing me in the canal would be inappropriate but the local council recycling centre could have a (paid) option for getting shut of cadavers.
