As England realised last year, France have a bit of strength in depth.

So pleased that France have been made to play Scotland this weekend. Would have been so unfair for France to have these players back whilst Scotland had already signed up to release players back to their clubs for the alternate date.

If the FA had told Fulham to turn up we, probably, would have beaten their weakened side but, importantly, would have had a full weeks rest ahead of the Baggies game.

Yes this is true, and along with arguably England, France are the nation that can call on the biggest pool, and this is why I wouldn't write them off at the weekend, even with all their absentees they'll prove a tough nut for Scotland to crack.

So the game is now off as another French player has come back positive.

No date yet to the game to be played, but it would be unfair on Scotland if played next week as they'd be losing 10 players going back to their club sides.

Reported on the Scottish news that the game will be played in early July, that seems too long a wait to me, but they don't have many windows in which to fit this match into the hectic schedule, the other problem is that's encroaching into Lions tour territory. But I do agree it wouldn't be fair on the Scots to be penalised for something which isn't their fault.

So today we start with Italy v Ireland then Wales v England .
Now Irish look a bit off the pace but then again should have too much for Italy i think Ireland will run out 32 -10 winners and just about sneak a bonus point at the death .
Now the big game over the weekend is in Cardiff as Wales go for thr tripple crown , now sure why they have got here but having teams down to 14 men seems to equal a win .
England have been poor by their standards but i have a feeling today they will take Wales apart and win 35 -14 .
Shame the France v Scotland game has ben called off but what can you do .

Enjoy the day everyone as i am just going to start of with a beer .

27-10 to Ireland at HT, a late Italian score makes it slightly more respectable, but despite not being outstanding Ireland have been more than comfortable, and should go on to claim the BP win in the 2nd half.

48-10 win for Ireland, easy pickings in the end against the perennial whipping boys, and questions must surely be asked about Italy's continued involvement in this tournament, 30 defeats in a row now, and many of those have been by a considerable margin, and these processions can't be adding to the creditably of the 6N in any way whatsoever.

Said it before, French referees ref a different game to what the British and Irish guys play. Ruins the match for me when it’s a French ref.

Time for 6 Nations2 with 1 prom/rele every year. Brings Spain and Georgia into the mix. They still wouldn’t be good enough but what a boost for their game.

Edit:just done some research and the next 6 in the world rankings are:
Georgia..13th, Italy are 14th
Spain.....17th
Rumania.19th
Portugal..20th
Russia.....21st
Holland...25th

French ref obviously saw Lee Mason today and thought “hold my beer, watch this!”

Very good of them too. Nice to go in at half time ahead for a change. Some of those penalties were totally ridiculous.
That is probably our luckiest triple crown ever. I had some sympathy for Ireland (except the red card guy) and Scotland, but none for that white lot. They fell asleep too often, professional fouls etc, etc. 2 key players returning for us made a huge difference too.
Still can't see us beating France unless they all have long covid.
The interview from Eddie Jones was classy. Respect to him there.

You nailed it in a nutshell, that last 20 minutes was criminal, do all the hard yards to get back to 24-24, and then gifted Wales easy points.

And this isn't a new issue for England it's been a problem for far too long, and if they're serious about competing for 6N and WC success longer term it needs to be remedied quickly.

Wales has a chance of a GS, which not many would have imagined a month ago, you can argue they've rode their luck, but equally you have to take advantage of the rub of the green, and that's what they've done in all 3 games, it's not their fault that Ireland, Scotland & England can't maintain their discipline.

If those two first half decisions had gone to players in white shirts, then most of Wales would have been calling for Wynn-Jones to lead his players off the field in protest ...

Appallingly inept officiating from a puffed-up Referee, who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a Junior Club 2nd XV game, never mind an International Test. I would agree that England didn't help themselves in the 2nd half though ...

As an England fan that's the annoying thing, they recovered from the bizarre decisions of the refs, and got themselves back into the game, and then simply allowed Wales to boss the last 20, and that's what will be the most galling aspect for Eddie Jones & co, and the more worrying thing is England don't seem to be learning from their mistakes, and until they do then they won't win many of these tight contests.

So week 4 of the six nations and first up
Italy v Wales , hummmm go anyone out there think that Italy can win this ? Yer me too Wales will win this by 38 -10 .
England v France, yes the game of the weekend . Hard call as not sure who France will have on the pitch but you have to say they will win this one , now not pretty but 15 -10 .
Last one one up Scotland v Ireland , two sides look quite even but i have to go with the Scots due to playing at home more than anything else 24-18 .Farrell's time is numbered as head coach of Ireland as he has not done anything with the side and if anything gone backwards , watch this space .

Ive just finalised my Fantasy 6 Nations team for this round. Looking forward to the games.

Got the max number of Wales players in there (3 backs + a back row) made Biggar captain. Think Wales will win by 20-30 points - maybe 40-12 ish

France have so far played much better than England but "le crunch" always plays out a bit like a derby in footy- form out of the window. I'll go for England by a narrow margin - 19-15

Scotland v Ireland - Scotland always capable of a big game (especially v England) but I think the core of old warriors in green with prevail. 18-24

Easy win for Wales.

The other 2 are harder to call.

But France look a different outfit these days, and a trip to Twickenham isn't feared as much nowadays, so a narrow victory for the French.

Scotland-Ireland could be a tight affair, but I'll favour Ireland too prevail late on.

I don't think it would, but another home defeat for England would ramp up the pressure on him.

A converted try for France in the opening couple of minutes, not a good start by England.

England snatch victory at the death, Wales must be big favourites for the title now.

And where has this England team been hiding they were excellent to a man today against a very good French side.

Ireland nick it at the death, typical Scotland they win at Twickenham, and then lose their next 2 home games.

Ireland nearly threw that game away, at 24-10 and dominating the ball it should have been a comfortable last 20 minutes for you guys, but you somehow contrived to allow Scotland back into it, and you were fortunate to get over the line in the end.

So here we go again as the so called super Saturday .
First up Scotland v Italy , ok lets say it my predictions have been somewhat poor now others would call it something else but i think i have a 100% record with all games with Italy . Yep bookies tremble as i have the Scots to win the game 48 - 18 , i think it will be an open game but it will end in defeat for the Italy .
Next up hummmmm Ireland v England boy hate the English when i comes to sport , sorry what can i say it's an Irish thing .
As for the game just can't see how Ireland can beat the English as the power game will win out in the end so going for 12-28 .
Last up France v Wales , now still shocked how Wales has won 4 games and going for the slam , hey going to call it for France in a very tight game 23-21 .

Now one game to come due to covid but plan to watch all 3 games today and i am going to be in a mess by 10pm . Ohhhh if England win you will never hear a peep from me , now on the other hand .................

Scotland should win fairly comfortably, and if they don't questions will surely be asked of GT.

The other 2 are much harder to call, I actually fancy Ireland to edge England, England haven't quite hit the heights you'd expect this year, and Ireland will be on a high after their last 2 games.

Now the biggie I'd love Wales to complete a GS, but I agree with you France to edge it narrowly But I think I'm correct that even a losing BP will be enough for Wales to claim the title if France don't score 4 tries, and the Welsh are capable of achieving that I feel.

52-10 win for the Scots, and that's their record victory over Italy. However the Scots will be left to rue those narrow defeats to Wales and Ireland, truly a case of what might have been.

Ireland 20 England 6 at HT, plenty for Eddie Jones to ponder over.

England have been poor again, and that French performance seems a distant memory already.

Well i could go on but hey i got the Irish result wrong .

Need i say anymore ...........................................
I called that one right, but even I didn't expect it to be so conclusive a win for Ireland.

Proper game this in Paris, 17-17 at the break and it's been breathless, great refereeing as well to keep the game flowing.

Great to see a competent unbiased referee (and I don't even understand the rules!!)

France Wales is a good game. Interesting hearing the ref. A lot harder than football refereeing imo

Wales denied a GS at the death, however they could still win the championship, if Scotland do them a favour.

The ref was really good, and he tried where possible not to give yellow or red cards.

LOL at Wales.

England have been very poor throughout this tournament, though.
