Team for Bournemouth

Post by IWOODLOVETT » Sat Feb 06, 2021 10:10 pm

Have we got one? Can we risk our best players? Will it be the side that beat Fulham?

I’m not sure how we will go to be honest.

Bardsley, Rodriguez and Long will start but not sure what else we’ll have available. I don’t think we’ll risk the “kids”.

I would select Vydra - playing extremely well but needs another goal as soon as possible.

If I’m honest I think he starts the team that played today. Possibly Stephens in for Westwood just to rest him.

This is the furthest Dyche has got if we win. I think he will want to give it a good go.

I’d rest Pope, Lowton, Pieters (Glennon), then go Jay and Vyds up front.

This is the potential problem. The exact people who want us to go all out with the same players, will the same people lambasting the management team for playing first team players if they get injured.

No argument with that BPF was excellent in the Fulham game!

I've just thought about that, and say we get to the final (just a dream) and the Peacock has played throughout the rounds, who does Dyche pick for the final?

Any road....

The Peacock
Bardsley
Tarky
Long
Pieters
Stephens
Westwood
Benson
McNeil
Rodders
Vydra

Or lambasting the transfer policies more like.

For me. Go all out. Take it serious. Try and win the thing.

To be frank we have to go very strong given it's the fifth round.

So we’ll have a change of keeper + Bardsley, Long, Stephens and Rodriguez (possibly Benson) who are likely to start. That’s six so which players from today’s team do you think the manager will risk?

Good question Bin ont turf, you’d like to think SD would stick with the players that ( in our dreams ) got us there. But then again a final is a final ! What would you do?

I'd be hard pushed not to choose the Peacock really, I'm a stickler for fairness, and after all he is a full international goalkeeper.

What we have to be is sensible and not to go all out.

Instead, we rest anybody who is feeling fatigued. We may give players minutes if they need it. We give minutes to people such as Vydra who a goal would do the world of good.

It's a mixture of players based on different situations and how players are invidually.

Any manager that played a perceived weaker team in a final and lost would find it hard to defend their selection

We CAN go down, so we need to be sensible.

Agree with much of this

Possibly players on the verge of coming back (Taylor, Wood, Browhill)
given some minutes and would start with Vydra and Jayrod up front.
Hopefully whoever is put out gets a result and no injuries.
The defense has put in serious shifts for a while now so could be feeling
it a bit and we don't want any injuries to key players Mee and Tarks
as we've got 3 or so important games coming up.

We have a genuine shot of a cup run here, and we may not got another chance like this for many years, so we should go pretty strong.

And surely the players will want to try and reach a major final won't they.

Peacock
Lowton mee tarks glennon
JBG Cork Westwood mcneil
Mumbongo vydra

We have too many strikers with knocks atm who could do with the rest. I'd like to see mumbongo get a start. As we are down to one left back, I'd try Glennon. Lowton/bardsley swap would be OK. Maybe benson for westy if his stats show the latter needs a rest. I thought brownhill was injured, but if not start him for Westwood

BPF
Bardsley Tarks Long Glennon
JBG Stephens Cork McNeil
Vydra Jay

I agree with those who wouldn't risk our only fit experienced left back (Pieters) and I'd try to get Jay some positive minutes on the field because other than the Fulham cup game, he's been looking poor.

Don't see any reason to rest Pope. Strong as possible for me. Maybe bring Stephens in to give Westwood a rest and Jay Rod for Barnes.

My biggest concern in terms of staying up is an injury to one of Mee and Tarkowski. It’s the area I think we are least able to manage an injury in.

As much as I’d love a cup run, I might be half tempted to go with Long and Dunne, though admittedly, that could be a step too far, if we want to progress.

It pains me a little to say, with our current position, shorter turnaround for games and paper thin squad, this is possibly the worst season for us to finally go on a cup run.

BPF
Bardsley
Long
Dunne
Pieters (assuming Taylor is near)
JBG
Cork
Stephens
Benson
Vydra
Rodriguez

Rest Pope, Tarkowski, Lowton, Cork, Westwood and McNeil.

Bring in
BPF, Long, Bardsley, Stephens, Brownhill and Brady

We need to give Vydra as much game time as possible and see how is partnership with Barnes works

Yeah, but I'm thinking on top of our highest league position.

Every player has had a rest at some point or not started the season like Tarky.
There's only Westwood maybe that is due one?

The squad should be alright for an extra 4 games or so.

Can you imagine getting to an FA Cup Final and not being able to go to it!? I think I’d rather we were knocked out in the quarters!!

We should do enough to scrape through and then win the next 3 PL games. If we do we can safely attack the cup.
