If it was anyone but Mahomes as the QB, I would say this game is over. Chiefs losing their heads a little

you forgot to add it's in Florida so nobody gives a toss there anyway. On my US feed they said they had paid $100 for the seat and that they would be entered into a ballot for next year's 'bowl in LA.williamjblazkowicz wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 1:18 amThe stadium capacity is around 66,000 and there are 22,000 fans in attendance. 7,500 of the 22,000 attending are vaccinated healthcare professionals. Re: Superbowl LV tonight.
nothing, I don't follow the NFL - my dig is at the NFL and Ron Disantis etc
Just for context, I've not seen my family for well over a year and **** like this makes the likelihood of that happening anytime soon even more remote, so yeah, I think having a stadium with people in is unforgivable given how much the rest of us are having to give up to try and help get it under control. That's all I'll say on the matter because I genuinely don't want to spoil the thread.
Hope its a good game for you all

You incorrectly stated that the stadium is full so I was simply providing you with the correct information. Not saying it's right or wrong as to whether there should be fans in attendance or not.Vegas Claret wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 1:32 amyou forgot to add it's in Florida so nobody gives a toss there anyway. Does Brady just say "wanna go to the superbowl" before signing for a random team?

The Buccaneers have been excellent so far. Chiefs very underwhelming. Mahomes is going to have to put on a show.

I’ll be sure to comment when someone brings up the horse racing or golf to make sure people are aware I don’t like their sports.

Re: Superbowl LV tonight.
Delighted for Tampa. I've always been a Patriots supporter and thought Brady was past his best but just goes to show he still has it. Saw a preview on the Superbowl the other day and they said it isn't just what he brings as a quarterback but the fact that he gives the other players confidence and makes them play better. This certainly seemed the case last night, so many Tampa players performing better than previously. And let's not forget Gronkowski, not got the speed he had but his blocking, running and positioning is still there.tarkys_ears wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 1:59 amNah, he says "do you wanna win the superbowl" before signing for a random team.
Just goes to show what a difference two older experienced players can make to a team. Tampas gain with these two is definitely the Patriots loss.

Just to confirm, you’re saying you don’t like American Football? I won’t believe it until you’ve posted on at least 10 more American Football threads. With the obsession you seem to have that shouldn’t take long.Wile E Coyote wrote: ↑Mon Feb 08, 2021 1:33 amafter half time I have learned that mark chapman is an embarrassing sports bore, golf and now this facile anchorman role trying to be in the know with this docile sport. Well done Buccs. Brady was superb. Shame Mahomes had no protection to make it a game. Bowles defence were so good it might not have mattered.
Why do so many who have no interest in a subject feel the need to come on and tell us?
Away and take yourself in hand boys. It might give you some pleasure.

Why the need to tell everybody else just how much you don't like it?
I have no time for it either so guess what - I don't watch it but I don't start calling for it to be taken off air.

Action for a few seconds then nothing. Back to a studio. Then a few seconds more and back to studio. Then quarter end again and again!
Yawn!

If you are referring to the World series in baseball I believe that got it's name from a newspaper of that name, not because they thought it made them World champions.

The World Series is not the World Championships. As mentioned above. Is indirectly connected to the newspaper. The World Baseball Classic is for international teams and has been won by Japan at least twice and the Dominican Republic much to the chagrin of Americans.

Re: Superbowl LV tonight.
Didn't watch the SB, on far too late for me I'm afraid, but what a player Brady is, 7 Superbowls now and he's carrying on next season.
Surely he qualifies as the GOAT after that.
The only equivalent in football would be Cristiano Ronaldo for me, that's how good he is.

Re: Superbowl LV tonight.
Funny how the same people who whinge about the game having pauses are often the same ones that will happily spend all day watching cricket and golf. The juvenile comments come out every time there's a thread on American Football posts. Having been a fan since primary school and having played it for a short time, I can say it's got a lot going on... physical but requires a lot of intelligence to play successfully (from a play design point of view).

Any opinions on the HT show?
The Weeknd. Being an old fart I’d heard the name but not the music. Loved it, I’ll be checking him out on youtube and will probably buy something. Put $7m of his own money in to stage the show. The bonus was he filled the field with dancers instead of them fake fans prancing around.

Does it matter what sort of champion he calls himself?
He's got more winners rings than any franchise has..
It doesn't matter to us if the Americans call themselves world champions, the English have some bizarre sense of self entitlement when it comes to football, especially the media and all the guff about it "Coming home"

he put the $7m in because the usual $13m budget wasn't enough to do what he wanted - anyone thing $20m to stage a 20min half time show is excessivehuw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 12:41 amAny opinions on the HT show?

I thought it was decent the first time I watched. I ended up giving it a second viewing as I was half asleep the first time round. Actually very good. I'm not really into that sort of music usually but he has some pretty catchy songs. Interestingly enough, Super Bowl half-time performers don't actually get paid for their appearance. Mind you, the amount of publicity they get from it sort of pays for itself!huw.Y.WattfromWare wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 12:41 amAny opinions on the HT show?
