MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
Stephens has been poor but I agree with the above. At least he has shown for the ball. Absolutely no support from the other 3 midfielders. It's a rank bad performance, but what can we do? Very risky to bring our best players on. Maybe Barnes for Jay, but the risk of injury to Tarks/Mee is too great for me.

Our midfield doesn't function without someone willing to move into space and be able to turn and pass accurately crying out for a Brownhill, Westie or Cork

No point in pointing fingers at any single player when so many have been so poor!

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
Agree that Stephens has had more touches than anyone else the problem is that he has missed two decent opportunities to get a shot on target whilst nearly getting an OG and nearly giving a pen away. I’d rather he was involved less and do something right tbh
Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
Stephens taking a lot of stick here, but Dyche's downright disgusting tactics must take the majority of the blame. The other midfielders, aside from McNeil, have been absolutely garbage too. What's he meant to do in there against 5 good footballers?
Just come away from your boring horrible 442 Dyche. A horrible watch.

Shooting into our favourite end this half
Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
At least Benson has an excuse, as a young pro making his way in the game. Stephens is an old Pro and is supposed to know what he's doing.

Exactly. Jay this season, apart from the odd moment, almost looks like he’s lost it.

That’s it, in a nutshell.randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 6:25 pm3 years of no investment results in a squad like this
Sadly Bournemouth (a Championship team, regardless of how much they spent on it) have a stronger ‘squad’ (if not team) than Premier League Burnley. There are only about five of our team tonight good enough for a Premier League squad, with others in there that are not (and never will be) Championship standard.
Over to you Alan Pace, we need to spend a lot of money this summer - and it needs to not just be funded from selling Tarkowski but from your own back pocket on top of that.

Stephens and Benson are being outnumbered in midfield. Benson is in experienced and Stephens is struggling with the pressure.

Amazed Stephens has been singled out, he’s literally on his own in midfield, Benson is offering nothing at all.

I love Burnley, But this is hard to watch. they're playing like they don't give a sh.t they could at least put some effort in. None of them making a claim for a first team spot.

Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
He's playing alongside Dunne who is also inexperienced . Mee would help steady him.jedi_master wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 6:16 pmShame with Glennon this, he’s looked class in his sub cameos in both cups so far (although, I note, in each of those I think he came on at left wing rather than left back). Really struggling tonight.
Both fullbacks have struggled though. Bardsley looks incapable of passing 6 yards to a claret shirt. And JGB has transformed back into the static ineffective backward facing player we have seen far too often this season.
And what's happened to Jay?
Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
Good luck with that. His pockets are about as deep as our squad.jedi_master wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 6:28 pmThat’s it, in a nutshell.

Need Westwood on. I’d hook Glennon, Stephens and Benson. I’m sure I’m missing something but I actually can’t see what Benson offers and I don’t just mean this game.

We can barely knock together a starting lineup most of the time.
They refer to us as a PL team but most of our bench warmers would struggle to make anything above a League one club

Anyone know how many subs are we allowed, got to get Stephens and Glenn on of now or we will go 2 and 3 down at this rate
Re: MIGHTY CLARETS versus Bournemouth
When Dyche makes so many changes it basically tells the squad that he couldn't care less.vancouverclaret wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 6:29 pmI love Burnley, But this is hard to watch. they're playing like they don't give a sh.t they could at least put some effort in. Missing any real leader in the team. I don't think Bardo, for all his experience and qualities, is a leader of others and, unfortunately, nor is anyone else out there.

I know it’s ‘only’ the FA Cup, but if we exit to a performance like this I will spit my dummy out, I will **** and moan and I won’t be bothered if some of those players never pull on a claret and blue shirt again.
Not acceptable.

Lot of drama queens on here.
So many changes (which I presume we can understand) is bound to have an effect.
Let’s see how the game progresses first.

lololol according to Simon Jordan there not even going to be paying the future club purchase instalments with their own money so zero chance of that happening - excess funds for squad improvements !!!jedi_master wrote: ↑Tue Feb 09, 2021 6:28 pmThat’s it, in a nutshell.
