Seeing Bournemouth get Southampton has like others have said made the loss the other night even harder to take.
A winnable tie for a semi-final appearance at Wembley
What's the point of a Wembley semi-final if there are no fans?
If it's (e.g.) Man City v Man U it might as well be at Anfield or Goodison, or somewhere near.

If there are no fans I tend to agree with you and I am old school anyway and think the semi finals should be at neutral grounds but they are at Wembley and it may be the case that some fans are admitted.
My son who is a Burnley fan said he saw that I was actually buzzing and looking forward to the match after we destroyed Fulham and I was doing the typical fan of “what ifs” going forward and that I should have known that Dyche doesn’t care about it etc

The two women point is that it is not their cup. Two men doing the womens draw would be the same.
I prefer the thought of folk who can relate to the cup and even give their memories etc. Mixed might do it so you can treat the cups equally but it just strikes me as odd to have folk with no actual connection. I'll keep digging!

Yeah, I yearn for the return to the days of Bert Millichip and some other chinless wonder from the FA doing the draw, looking like they were having guns held to their heads. It was so exciting.

If it makes anyone feel better, had we beaten Bournemouth we wouldn’t necessarily have been drawn to play Southampton.
In other words, the reality in which we beat Bournemouth does not exist, so the balls in that bowl (or whatever they drew them out of-I didn’t see the draw by the way) would have obviously been arranged differently.
So, we can always comfort ourselves with the thought that, in the alternate reality of a Burnley victory, it could have been Man City away.
Does that help? Not for me really - it’s still a sickener.
By the way, the op takes the biscuit. What an idiotic comment.

That reminds me of an occasion when Bob Lord was doing the draw. We must have just have played a (probably) 3rd round tie at Turf Moor. I was on the bus going back home to Colne and remember seeing Bob Lord through a TV shop window pulling out the balls (if you’ll excuse the expression).

Yeah, sure, but the number of the ball is irrelevant. The world in which we won does not exist. If it did, all events that followed would necessarily be different.

Maybe you missed the start when it was announced that 5 TIMES FA Cup Winner Karen Carney was doing the draw.

She has a fantastic CV but she has never won THE FA Cup.
I don't really care who did the draw, we are out so interest lost. From a business perspective at least BT didn't pay 2 people to draw 4 balls each, unlike those wastrels at the BBC.

Not sure if you saw my post on the other thread but we generally lose anyway the match after a cup game. It doesn’t make the blind bit of difference resting the players.
I’d thought from memory that we usually did lose anyway after these cup debacles and was going to have a look at the facts and it was similar in the Europa League we played weakened teams then were losing in the league but this was blamed on the Europa league when most of the first team didn’t play or played the last half hour

Don't get this doom and gloom around the Cup. This is one year I'm not interested. The Premier League is all about financial obligations and contracts, fair enough, it has to continue. But the Cup is still one for the fans. Getting to the final, or even the semi, and just watching another training ground game in front of empty seats while a few shouts and squeals echo around seems pointless.
Every time we mention our play-off final in '09, it's always about the day out, the fans, the noise, the reaction to Wade's goal as much as the goal itself. I had to Google if there even was a cup final last season, no idea that took place.

In other news, a black man has been President of the United States and a woman is now VP there. We've even had two female PMs in the UK. Hell, my line manager at work is a woman. Whatever next?
If people are moaning about this level of event in life, I can recommend walking as a way of aiding mental health and developing a positive mindset.

Since when do you have to have been near an FA cup to pull some balls out of a hat?
There seems to be a disproportionate number of dinosaurs on this message board.
Maybe there is; so what? Maybe they prefer to be called traditionalists.

Yes, disproportionate. Amongst my friends, family and colleagues I would be hard pressed to find anyone who has an issue with a female presenter and a female pundit hosting the FA cup draw. Yet this board is rife with archaic views.
You may think that there's nothing wrong with sexism, that doesn't mean that you're right.

Firstly you stated you wanted people who can relate to the cup and have their memories of it, or some guff like that.
When it's pointed out how many times she's won it, you then make it clear this is about her gender....
This board is littered with people who've got old fashioned sexist views..

We get Carragher dissecting teams and their tactics all the time and he's never been a manager, so using your logic, he should stick to chatting about players.
Jeff Stelling - he's never played a professional game of football in his life but it's odds on you've spent many an hour watching him on Sky Sports...
Same with many of the football commentators like Motson who've never played but are well respected and listened too....

Jeff Stelling is the link man. He asks questions which opens the opportunity for the former players.
I have no problem with a woman asking the questions. I just like a real expert/experienced player to answer them!
Two blokes doing the womens draw would get tye same treatment! What do they know?

I agree with Ian, it should be left to those involved with the Men's professional game to do the men's draw. They'll be getting celebrity's to do it next who have no link to professional football whatsoever

The women should only be grabbing a certain set of balls.
