I think we masterminded that defeat all by ourselves.

Lisa Redknapp could have masterminded our defeat.

As said above, we masterminded that all by ourselves.

Woodgate played his strongest XI that played in the Premier League last season. Sean Dyche started with a weakened team

Using his words, you have to get the basics right

Anyone could have been the mastermind. Tactics against us usually evolve around pressing really hard to get a first goal. If they score first we rarely can come back due to our inability to score consistently.

Add that to a weakened team and a plan B of making even more long balls it's really easy to get tactics versus us right.

Only about half that team were Premier League regulars last season. Brooks was in injured, Wilson, King, Fraser, Ramsdale gone. Five changes from the team that beat Birmingham.

Couldn't have been Redknapp, not enough of time to sign numerous players and the accompanying brown envelopes, allegedly.

My point being if that was a league game instead, their team-sheet would’ve been very similar. Woodgate picked a stronger XI

They made 6 changes for the game.

They just played football and passed it around us, whilst easily dealing with our tactic of 2 or 3 negative passes and the hoof

Our 2 best moments, one in each half, came when Dunne ( our CB ) had a roaming run and played the ball back for on coming support.

They kept the spine intact. We left out the goalkeeper, centre halves, centre midfielders, and centre forwards.

Fully agreed...just the media touting him as the Mastermind and a bit disrespectful to Woodgate IMO.....I like Harry but hes got one fcuking big Ego.

Dyche masterminded that defeat no one else, whether intentionally or unintentionally you decide.

In hindsight and from a purely selfish point of view .. How gutting would it of been to reach the FA Cup Final and we wasn't
allowed to attend ...?? :-)

Dunno why people keep saying this. I would prefer to get to an FA cup final and not be able to attend than not get to one at all. Getting to the final this year wouldn’t affect our chances of getting to a final another year.

Chances are we’ve probably seen the best Burnley side of our lifetime, so I suspect we won’t have many chances as good as we had this season to progress in the tournament.

Of course it was a tad tongue in cheek and i obviously wanted us to progress , It would of been prayers and having
everything crossed that a crowd would be allowed in by May ..
