Every single player won their individual battle
Lowton's goal was truly stunning
Shame about the injuries but the performance was brilliant

Re: Magnificent
Brilliant performance from front to back. We came flying out of the blocks in both halves and got our rewards.
Makes you wonder why we aren’t so positive whenever we play the teams outside the top 6/7. I think the second half against Villa was a turning point in Dyche’s mentality.

Extremely proud of the boys today. Superb performance and we played some good football.
Amazing what we can do when we play it on the deck and not just lump it to wood and barnes

Re: Magnificent
Easy out really as Palace were very poor
Re: Magnificent
We won midfield today. Palace had no engine room which allowed us to control the game. Attitudes were spot on from the off and Lowtinho has been a joy of a footballer for weeks now.

Nothing surprises me about the result or performance.
Since November our form as been excellent and worthy of top 10 and that is were we would be now but for our poor start

Re: Magnificent
Lowton goal was unusual for us in that when he surged forward and met resistance, he unloaded and carried on. Plan a up to now has been to stop on meeting resistance and pass backwards retaining possession until Pope wallops it upfield. He didn’t and we reaped the rewards. An absolutely brilliant goal.
Great team performance today and certainly NOT a game of two halves...
let’s hope Ben is ok.

Re: Magnificent
Why not? Was it a concussion substitution?

Apparently they said it wasn't a concussion substitution.

Re: Magnificent
Really?
Palace may well have not been their normal selves, they have big players out injured. But that game needed winning, and we won it emphatically with a great hardworking performance and you concentrate on Palace?
Wow. Just wow.

Re: Magnificent
We are a better side when JBG plays well too, a big shout to Barnes who put in a warrior shift winning free kicks and retaining possession.
Matt Lowton is in the form of his life, great to see.
Was surprised that Dwight got MOTM but he was also very good today.

Re: Magnificent
Palace were poor, but just maybe that's because we made them look poor, I will certainly throw brickbats when needed such as Tuesday, but today they were all outstanding to a man, and that's why we run out comfortable 3-0 winners, give the boys credit were it's due.

Re: Magnificent
Game was won by 10 past 3. Great to see the lads playing with freedom and confidence. Get results against Fulham and West Brom and we’re pretty much safe.
Re: Magnificent
Lots of energy throughout the team having had a few batteries recharged this week... Keep it going for at least next two games and all will be well.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 13, 2021 5:23 pmPalace were poor, but just maybe that's because we made them look poor, I will certainly throw brickbats when needed such as Tuesday, but today they were all outstanding to a man, and that's why we run out comfortable 3-0 winners, give the boys credit were it's due.

Re: Magnificent
I think Ben Mee will be fit for Fulham, whether he plays or not is a different matter.
Sean does like to protect them, but this game being so important, I would ask the skipper and leave the decision up to him.

Totally disagree. We won today and played brilliantly. That doesn’t mean we couldn’t have fielded a stronger team midweek and win both. The two don’t have to be mutually exclusive

I agree 100% agree, and have been shouted down on this board for suggesting the cup team was the correct one.... Need to perform next two games as well though.

Re: Magnificent
I don’t think anyone has argued that the cup team wasn’t the correct one to maximise our chance of collecting 3 points today. The cup team wasn’t the correct team to get through to the quarter final. It’s not difficult to grasp.

Why be so persistent with your campaign against Vydra - we should be pleased we got four decent options up top.

Re: Magnificent
We totally outplayed them and showed quite a gulf in class
Palace apparently have 12 out of contract in Summer, and possibly their average age is on a par or even older than ours. I think we will see a managerial change there. Would not surprise me if talks have not already been held with Eddie Howe. Did they not approach him before he moved to Burnley. Maybe Howe/Tindall partnership will resurface

Tall Paul says: "Funny how we win games when Vydra doesn't start..."
PL matches played: 23
Vydra started 3
And yet in the other 20 matches we've won only 7 and until today had scored fewer goals than everyone else. Case rested.

Re: Magnificent
I know there were. But people weren't arguing that the team put out midweek wouldn't improve our chances of winning today. They were arguing that the team put out midweek wasn't strong enough to make it to the quarter final - which it wasn't.
Like I say, it's not difficult to comprehend.

And great to see Jay getting back into form. Last season with a run of games he found his form again; he's showing signs of doing the same this season too, fitness permitting. Fantastic performance all round today.

All I can say is, after that performance and result, none of us should be arguing. We should just be sitting back, revelling in a 3 nil away victory for the mighty, bloody Clarets. Happy Saturday evening fellow Clarets!
