He was on a mission absolutely brilliant ... almost rivals Sons goal against us at the Spurs new stadium 2 years ago....

Re: Matt Lowton goal
Maybe we should play him as an attacking midfielder now.
Beauty of a ball from Rodders though, the only forward we have who can do that.

Re: Matt Lowton goal
His quote on Twitter cracked me up. " Var weren't checking for offside, they were checking it actually happened. "

Reminiscent of Ward’s goal at the battle of Stamford Bridge.

Had my doubts about him long term, however his form in the last 5-6 games has been sensational

Outstanding for a while now.
Do not need a new RB while he’s in this form. Brilliant to watch.

He’s been waltzing past players all season. I don’t remember him doing that so often in the past.

Was a fantastic goal, and deserved after really performing recently. He needed to raise his game, and he has certainly moved up a gear or two recently. Looks far more confident and a lot sharper.

Re: Matt Lowton goal
I think the execution was better than Ward’s. Lawton’s was a genuine volley whereas Ward chested it down and it bounced well for him. Still a great goal of course

Seems to me he's lost a few lbs and gained quite a bit of pace, he looks a totally different player these last few games.

Re: Matt Lowton goal
I loved the run and how he wiped out the defender. He was NOT going to be stopped. Best goal ever by a Burnley full back ?

McNeil did well but thought for sure Lowton was going to get MOTM. Up against a team who didn't look at all interested, but still, one of his best games for us.

Re: Matt Lowton goal
What has happened with Matt Lowton since the start of the year. He has always given 100% but, suddenly, BOOM! His figures are through the roof and THAT goal... WOW !
He must be walking on air tonight, and rightly so. Well done Matt Lowton.

Re: Matt Lowton goal
Agree.
He was getting pelters on here for a while, I think a lot of us forgot how good he was, last few games have been a reminder.
Taylor \ McNeil , Lowton \ JBG and Cork is a big difference to the team and explains the lack of goals.

An absolute worldie, started and finished by him.

Re: Matt Lowton goal
Easily does.
Sons goal was great. To run that length of the field and score is something. But we did give him the freedom of north London. It was obvious what would happen when tarks cocked up in their box.

Re: Matt Lowton goal
How long have I been on here pleading for our FBs to occasionally come inside and have a dig?
That’s what happens. It also keeps the defence honest.
All we need now is for Charlie to start and we are covered. Both Bards and Erik have it already.

Re: Matt Lowton goal
Exactly. One walked through a team that bent over for him. Granted a great run and finish.
The other bulldozed his way through. Great link up play. And smashed it home. He is also a defender.

Re: Matt Lowton goal
Fair play he kept his eye on the ball before guiding it it’s so easy to sky them.
Re: Matt Lowton goal
Obviously goal of the season but also pass of the season from JRod. I'm still worried they'll rule it out for Barnes being offside and interfering.
