Robbie Brady

Post by Bigvince » Sat Feb 13, 2021 5:27 pm

Will Robbie have to play left back against Fulham? with Eric Pieter going off with a pulled groin. Or is there another option apart from Bardsley playing on wrong side?

Hopefully. He was "touch and go" for today apparently 😂

Ben Mee is fine apparently. They said that he was up and walking about.

Seem to recall Bardsley filling in at left back for Stoke now and again. Pretty sure he'll play there if needed.

I hope this is true! He looks lazy, ponderous, and slow since his injury. Offers little in attack or defence in my opinion. Supposed to be a set piece specialist. :D And his corners usually don’t get past the first man. Celtic is about his level.

Celtic would be a good move for him.

I thought Brady did well in his brief cameo today. He clearly had been told by SD to slow the game down and that's what he did. No need to chase a game when we're three nil up away from home.

Why? He's played at left back for his previous clubs. Not suggesting he will against Fulham but it is very much an option.

Is it still around 10 days off for a concussion injury?

Another option would be going three at the back?

There’s more chance of Ian Woan at left back than Dyche changing to a 3 at the back.

At rugby (Union) I think its the rule on concussion that you're out of training and playing for 3 weeks at least. I'm not aware of a specific time for footy but there's guidance on ensuring controlled path back to activity/training.

I'm not sure if Ben was concussed but clearly the medics will know that. I'd be surprised if he palys in the next week if concussion was involved, especially given the routine amount of heading he has to do.

Taken from concussion protocol

"Playing too Soon After a Concussion: What's the Problem?
A majority of people who have sustained a concussion will need to be sidelined for at least seven to 10 days, but in some cases, an individual could take several weeks to heal."

Thank god he wasn't asked to up the pace of the game :o

He's pretty much already on the beach as far as Burnley are concerned. After a few words with his mate Jeff he knows he will have a final pay day at the end of the season

Celtic certainly seems a possible destination for most Irish guys, but the way they have performed this season even Eamon Holmes turned them down when he left Good Morning Britain ;)

Do we really want to be expecting Brady and JBG to play the full 90 minutes? I'd say that's a good enough reason for putting Bardsley in there.

The only way I can see Glennon getting on the pitch is if we're 3-0 up and Dyche wants to rest Dwight for the last 15 minutes.

where did you get the info that Pieters has pulled his groin ? Dyche said in his post match interview that he had a "tight groin" - zero indication he has a pulled groin whatsoever, hear it for yourself

Brady is a perfectly good player. We are a better team with him in it. Playing in midfield. With Gudmunsen upping his game, we have a first rate set of midfielders.

Indeed. Gudmundsson definitely ahead for me but when they are all around we do actually have some quality knocking around our squad.
