R.I.P.Doug Mountjoy a great snooker player and gentleman,who turned professional aged 34 after spending time working down the Welsh coal pits and had a great career.

When Snooker captured the Imagination..... I like Ronnie but it's not the same now. RIP.

RIP Doug. Nice guy. He broke off on his first appearance on Pot Black. One red went to the back cushion and settled back where it came from another went over to the side cushion and went back to re-form the triangle perfectly.
That must have been 1970ish and I’ve never seen it happen since.

He was the beaten finalist when Steve Davis won his first world title in 1981. Decent player.

Definitely one of the characters I remember from my youth, and yes snooker seemed to be more fun to watch back then.

Another one of the greats gone. I enjoyed the snooker back then, not as much these days, Doug was certainly worth watching back in the day. R.I.P. Doug.
