Away grounds we have only been once?
There can't be many grounds we have only had the chance to visit once as we have spent quite a chunk of time in each division.
I will start with Yeovil town.
Accy Stanley if we only count competitive games?

Can I count ones I've only been to once?
I only went to Barnet once but I think we probably had at last one further visit.

Loftus Road when Fulham were having the Cottage renovated. We played them in the cup I think and were unlucky not to win

Nuneaton, Manor Park - sadly now houses. Also Telford and Stafford Rangers, all FA Cup.
Re: Away grounds we have only been once?
Maidstone United - although the game was played at Dartfird’s ground. I seem to remember that they actually let the away favs leave first as well.

We played a friendly there in 2018 but other than that I think we've only played once at Macclesfield.

The Hockey Stadium, Milton Keynes ?
Re: Away grounds we have only been once?
What about Folkestone ? Think we played a summer tournament there - although I think we played 3 games ? Possibly against Folkestone, Maidstone and QPR ? Seem to remember one game abandoned due to floodlight failure ?

Re: Away grounds we have only been once?
You are spot on with that.
Losing 1-0 against Folkestone, game was abandoned when floodlights failed but we then played Maidstone there (won 3-0) and QPR (1-1 draw). It was pre-season 1982.

Re: Away grounds we have only been once?
This was a home game for me as we live 25 miles from Folkestone. I seem to remember the droll announcement when the game was abandoned - think it was something like “sone bright spark has nicked the fuses” ! I also remember my dad berating one of the players - and Brian Miller turned round and said “That’s David Miller ..... my son” to which my dad went very pale !ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 11:16 amYou are spot on with that.

Re: Away grounds we have only been once?
Brian wouldn't be best pleased at that, he certainly had a temper on him, but you could speak to him the following day and it was all forgotten. Smashing bloke taken from us far too soon.HB Claret wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 11:43 amThis was a home game for me as we live 25 miles from Folkestone. Re: Away grounds we have only been once?
The FA Cup tie against Hyde United in 1983 was played on the Turf although we have played reserve games at Hyde in more recent years against both Manchester United and Manchester City.claretburns wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 11:29 amSome quick research, apart from the teams/grounds already mentioned we have played only once away at the following:

Bristol Rover's temporary home at Twerton Park came to mind, but I think we might have played there twice in the mid 90s

So which was the best goal we have scored on a ground where we have only played once? Little at Mac or Ings at Yeovil?

Stan Collymore's was an amusing one at Stafford Rangers.

I seem to remember a wall collapsing in the away end at the Stafford Rangers game.
