Still getting aggro, gets it all year round apparently.
Some people need to grow up, but also in light of the continuing racism aimed at footballers like Martial, it's time for the larger social media sites to change their rules and stop anonymous accounts.

His political views may not be the same as mine but the situation he finds himself in is beyond ridiculous.
Time that technology was applied to social media and the abusers were punished.

His family shouldn't be brought into this at all.
He has certainly brought some of this all on himself though, you don't see any other Irish players getting the slightest bit of stick in England.

On a similar note, I have recently read Johnny Crossan's autobiography "the man they couldn't ban" He tells of the injustices of growing up in Derry and how it affected his progress as a Footballer in Northern Ireland by being a Derry Man.
Re: James McClean
Can’t really blame social media on this occasion. He would’ve received abuse anyway. He has made his choice to not represent Northern Ireland (where he was born and raised) and play for the ROI instead. He knew what he was getting into and he knew he’d get abuse for it. Doesn’t make it right of course.

Maybe people don't like him stoking the fire up to a conflict which has been peaceful for a few years now?
Re: James McClean
That’s the problem, people thinking he’s stoking the fire. He isn’t. He has his beliefs and he’s sticking to his principles and values. He doesn't say anything, people can't seem to let it go, even when he wrote that letter when at Stoke explaining it.
Idiots can't help themselves and maybe it's time they should be forced to be honest about who they are so we can see if they're still brave enough to make those threats, or in the case of other lads throw racial slurs at them.

This is tagged onto every article about X player not wanting to wear the poppy and there should be no further discussion, it shouldn't even need to be said. Still some people either don't, or choose not to get it.The Royal British Legion said "the decision to wear the poppy must be a matter of personal choice"

There is a history on this very forum of the vitriol that has been aimed in the direction of McClean.
If you're unable to understand why I've raised the issue, then I'm going to outright say you're part of the problem and don't have an issue with the abuse he and other tr footballers get.

Martial received vile racist abuse over a football game, from people who can hide their identity.
That's hardly fair is it?

People spew hatred for all sorts of reasons that they think are justified. You only have to look online to see people spewing if you don't want to have the vaccine you shouldn't be able to leave the house, or get treated by the NHS.
Who decides what's acceptable?

My boy's only 4 so I've not had to cross that bridge yet but taking something from him when he is the victim doesn't seem the right thing to do.
If it happened in "the real world" such as at a football club, I don't think I'd take him out of the club, I'd get the club to deal with it.
