Zero assists ?Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 8:45 pmMust admit I agree with this.
Taylor is a much better defender but I do think Pieters offers more going forward. Depends what you want from a left back.

So not zero assists then , Taylor works much better with McNeil than Pieters , Taylor is first choice left backNewcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 8:50 pmCharlie Taylor 3 assist in 90 games (no goals)
Erik Pieters 5 assist in 40 games (no goals)
Hence Pieters offers more going forward

JBG 6 (Much as I like him, this guy could get injured putting out the bloody recycling!)
McNeil 6 (Flitted in and out)
Barnes 6 (+ 1 for getting a few cheap fouls and for mis controlling the ball completely which threw the keeper allowing him to score!!)
Jay 7
Brady 3 (Absolutely awful. Failed to clear off the line when my 88 year old mum could have done it and missed the target with an easy free header. I'd have subbed him before he even came on!!!!!!!)
Brownhill 6
A poor showing against a team very likely to be relegated, but who looked pretty decent tbh. Anyway, at least we didn't lose it. We were very disjointed throughout and after conceding an absolutely horrible goal we produced a moment of brilliance to get level. After that I was happy with the point all day long.

Solid, defensively sound, and too good for Fulham who got a jammy goal and got lucky with bad finishes from Long, Rodriguez and Barnes. Especially the miss from Barnes in the last minute.
It amazes me at times how sides can crush Everton with flair and pace then against us we simply stifle them. That kid who got two against Everton hardly got a kick.
We didn’t quite make it tick offensively but did enough to deserve to edge it. Long played OK, he was the clear risk because as we know at this level he has one good game and one bad game. Dyche did the right thing keeping him on the right, you don’t hamper your weaker player by playing him out of position. Tarky is good enough to do that and he nearly set up a goal with his left foot.
A win on Sat now and the season is virtually over.

Re: Burnley v Fulham - Player Ratings
Just about happy with a draw overall. We dominated the first half and should have had at least one goal. Cork and Westwood controlled midfield. Sloppy goal to concede after the break, but a great response and could have won it. When we get some players back, we should have plenty to win enough points to stay up.
Pope 7 – Nothing much to do – he’s not had a lot to do recently
Lowton 7 – Did pretty well – couldn’t get forward as much as Saturday
Long 7 – Came in and did a good job – should have done better with the header.
Tarky 8 – Assured performance. He’s been great most of the season
Taylor 6 – Didn’t look fully fit, but good to see him back.
Gudmundson 6 – Such a pity to see him injured, again. We missed him in the second half
Westwood 8 – Controlled midfield with Corky – great volley, and some good set pieces
Cork 8 – See Westy – won many of the second balls and looked to move it quickly
McNeil 6 – a couple of good crosses, but below par for him. He gives the ball away too easily at times and doesn’t find space when man marked. A bit tired?
Rodriguez 8 – I thought he had a good game. Wonderful turn and pass for the goal. Held the ball up well. Should have scored in the first half, but their keeper got a slight touch.
Barnes 6 – His first touch was lousy, but got away with the goal. Overdid the histrionics too often to get anything from fatty Moss. The Fulham centre halves were pretty physical.
Brady 4 – a liability. Could have easily got a red card. Panicked with the goal line clearance effort. Where is his head at the moment? Is it injuries? His confidence is completely shot.
Brownhill 5 – ran around a lot. Not always easy to pick up the pace of a game.

Re: Burnley v Fulham - Player Ratings
Sorry but I disagree that Fulham looked pretty decent. I thought the were dreadful for most of the game and got a jammy goal. We dropped from the very high standards of the Palace game and looked a bit leggy but easily the better side and should have gone in at half time and that would have been game over. Worst team I have seen at TM IMHO this season and Everton should hang their head in shame at losing to this shower on Sunday. On this evidence they will struggle to get 30 points.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 8:55 pmPope 7

Re: Burnley v Fulham - Player Ratings
As I said above I thought Fulham were very poor. Tiredness seemed to stop us picking up where we left off on Saturday as injuries and a criminally small squad hit had an impact.
Pope 7 Nothing to do
Lowton 6 Bit after the Lord mayors Show
Tarky 8 - Thought he tried to play the Captains role and make up for Bens absence
Long 7 - Solid
Taylor 5 - Looked well off the pace
Gudmunsson 4 Not at the races
Westwood 7 Solid
Cork 7 Solid
McNeill 5 Poor
Jay 7 Improved second half and great assist but lacking so much pace now
Barnes 7 - Nearly messing up the goal shows that he is not the Barnes we know at the minute but he adapted well and hopefully growth in confidence will help him going forward
Brady 3 - Unbelievably bad
Brownhill 5 No impact
Match there to be won but could have been one of those nights after a flukey goal and whilst I would prefer to be looking at a league table where we were 11 points ahead of Fulham I'm ok with a point and an 8 points difference. Bottom 3 already sorted on this evidence.

In the context of our fight to avoid getting sucked into a relegation fight a very important point. Our threadbare squad looked tired towards the end and let’s not forget Fulham have spent a fortune on their squad, with 7 loanees starting.
Rest and regroup and get 3 points on Saturday and it will have been an excellent week.

Re: Burnley v Fulham - Player Ratings
Fair enough, but I actually thought Fulham looked better than Palace tbh. I totally agree their goal was extremely jammy and Brady should have cleared it relatively easily, but then again Barnes mis controlling Jay's superb pass fooled the goalie and allowed him to score unhindered. I thought last night was more about us not really being totally on it. We didn't seem to have any rhythm and seemed dis jointed somehow, but still made and missed several very decent chances, even up to the 92nd minute when Barnes should have won it.Woody9229 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 8:43 amSorry but I disagree that Fulham looked pretty decent. Re: Burnley v Fulham - Player Ratings
Pope 7 - Commanding, but poor kicking as usual.
Lowton 6 - massive come down from the weeekend.
Tarky 8 - Carried Long through the game. Immense player.
Long 4 - Thank God for Tarks, Long is so far away from being a Premier League player.
Taylor 5 - Very weak return to the side.
Gudmunsson 6 - meh
Westwood 8 - Very neat and tidy
Cork 8 - Really involved in the game.
McNeill 4 - His worst ever game for us, he needs a break, but we have no squad unfortunately.
Jay 7 - few nice touches.
Barnes 5 - (+1 for the goal, but he looks very poor at the minute)
Brady 3 - An absolute disgrace of a performance. Disgusting.
Brownhill 5 - Didn't really get a touch of the ball

Re: Burnley v Fulham - Player Ratings
Agree with most of that DC. I would like to think we made Palace look poor as we were so on our game from the off whereas last night we were slow out of the blocks and a better team than Fulham would have taken advantage but they were so bad they didn't. They might gel as they get used to each other but I didn't see a lot of promise or hope for them. Hope I'm right.Dark Cloud wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 9:06 amFair enough, but I actually thought Fulham looked better than Palace tbh. I totally agree their goal was extremely jammy and Brady should have cleared it relatively easily, but then again Barnes mis controlling Jay's superb pass fooled the goalie and allowed him to score unhindered. I thought last night was more about us not really being totally on it. We didn't seem to have any rhythm and seemed dis jointed somehow, but still made and missed several very decent chances, even up to the 92nd minute when Barnes should have won it.

agree with this. We were so far off it last night, but were lucky that we had Tarks as a 1 man army to stop anything they had!Woody9229 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 9:19 amAgree with most of that DC. Re: Burnley v Fulham - Player Ratings
Would broadly go with all the ratings.
But poor Brady. He needs a big cuddle and a a couple of weeks in retreat. SD will be the first to recognise his needs.
Overpaid he might be but he is a human being and a Drinkwater he is definitely not!. Frankly I wouldn’t give him a rating at all, as he shouldn’t even have been on the bench last night. That there is something wrong is all too clear to be seen.

After the Lord Mayor of Croydon's show, tiredness showed so I've been a bit lenient.
Pope 7
Taylor 7
Lowton 7 gunned down when just about to reprise his Palace goal.
Long 7 good job, number 3.
Tarks 8 those Cruyff turns are going to make him or break him!
JBG 7 Sorry for him - but thanks for turning the previous 2 games, mate.
Cork 7
Westwood 7
McNeil 6 You can tell he's tired by how many times and how far he runs back to our goal
Rodders 7 Two outstanding assists in 2 games yet hardly a mention. If a City player or Goolish had done them they would be worldies.
Barnes 7 A fresh air kick worthy of Sunday afternoon at Townley. (I know). A mis-control that makes him uncontrollable! Love him.
Brady 4 Where has that clever, dangerous player gone.
Brownhill 7 Perfect sub and substitution.

Football is a funny game.
There can't be another sport where a group of people can all watch the same game and once it has finished have some giving 1 player man of the match and scores of 7 and 8 in general and another give him a 4 and slate him.

4 is a fair score for Brady imo. He wasn't short of trying, if he didn't look at all bothered then maybe a 3.
Re: Burnley v Fulham - Player Ratings
'1 man army - 'Bit OTT that. So you didn't think that Lowton, Long and Taylor also put a shift in?burnley007 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 9:24 amagree with this. We were so far off it last night, but were lucky that we had Tarks as a 1 man army to stop anything they had!
Who was man of the match in the 1-1 home draw against Fulham?
1. James Tarkowski (28%, 152 Votes)
2. Kevin Long (16%, 89 Votes)

"Tell me what Taylor offers going forward? Zero goals, zero assists"
Ok two possibilities:
a) We have two left-backs called Taylor
b) My eyes and ears are playing up
