Robbie Brady
I'll say it, very very poor since his injury, plays the game with no urgency. I find it implausible we won't replace him in the summer
That's not me making him a scapegoat, it's just an observation on his performances, does ok defensively some games but offers very little going the other way

Re: Robbie Brady
Did not play well tonight at all now lots of players have off days better cut him some slack as he still is a very good player just not tonight

Would be nice to think we could replace him with another player, but in reality...
Re: Robbie Brady
I’ve been coming to Brady’s defence since his return from injury but to be fair, that has to be one of the worst cameos I’ve seen for a while.

Re: Robbie Brady
He’s a good player. Capable at times. But I think he’s mentally weak and also tried too hard when he can do things simpler.
Giving a corner away in first half prime example. Just clear the ball. The man on the line another example. Get your head on it.
Wingers are often inconsistent. But with the injuries and other challenges in that role we definitely need at least one new winger preferably right footed.

The commentary on the stream I was watching seemed to think he had been taken off due to his booking and a potential red card scenario, and that Sean wanted to protect him from that.

He was garbage. Let one in, could have been sent off and missed a sitter in his 15 mins.

Needed a right winger since last summer. Pretty sure it will be at the very top of the list alongside a Tarky replacement (and a Gibson replacement - we’ll be signing two centre backs I should think).

He’s been bloody awful since coming back and wasn’t exactly pulling up trees previously . Not easy playing out of position but very much one to move on in summer

yes that's what they said over here too. Still, he didn't do the most basic of jobs for their goal and did the square root of nothing going the other waydiamondpocket wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 8:20 pmThe commentary on the stream I was watching seemed to think he had been taken off due to his booking and a potential red card scenario, and that Sean wanted to protect him from that.

Re: Robbie Brady
well aware players have off days, wingers especially - but when does he have a good day ? Like I said, not making him a scapegoat but genuinely debating his effectiveness at PL level since his injury (he was superb before it, some players never recover though)

In his last two or three games , virtually every cross, every corner , every free kick and virtually every long pass have not come off. His time must be up, please.

No coincidence both him and JBG went off. Do we know if JBG has a bad injury
Looking at Robbie's body language when he got taken off, there is no way he is staying with us. No doubt he has Neil Lennon's mobile number,

Re: Robbie Brady
He's nowhere near good enough. You have to go back years for his last decent game for us.
Needs replacing desperately. The naivety of the guy pulling the Fulham player back like that whilst already on a yellow.
Not to mention the shocking attempt at keeping it out of the net or the pathetic header to put us 2 1 up

It does make me laugh when I see people posting about which positions are in need of upgrading and what sort of business we'll be doing. I'm not sure this board can survive another transfer window thread like the last half a dozen.

Pretty sure there is an ongoing problem that SD is aware off. Whether it is phycological or physical fitness Robbie Brady is struggling a bit at the moment. It is more than a form thing, but neither do I see it as lack of effort. It’s either physical or mental fitness. I base that on how patient SD is being with him.... we know he can lack empathy but think it’s deeper than that.

Re: Robbie Brady
To be fair he has played pretty well earlier I the season but tonight he was poor. Sadly Brownhill made little difference but we really needed to shift in someone to mid or up top for the last 20.
We are struggling injury wise this season.
Mee Taylor Cork Brady Gudmundsson Brownhill Barnes Wood have all had pretty lengthy spells out. And now Vydra and Stephens too.

Re: Robbie Brady
Bardsley in at right back and push Lowts up to an emergency right midfielder. He's got all the attributes and offers more than Brownhill. He's got a great engine, obviously defensive positioning, decent feet and can put good crosses in.

Re: Robbie Brady
I think with Brady it's psychological. He can be a good player but he is a rarity in that he constantly apologies to his team mates for things. Watch him. Often with angst.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 8:40 pmPretty sure there is an ongoing problem that SD is aware off. Re: Robbie Brady
Poor tonight, but pretty sure he was brought off to prevent him being sent off - which very plausibly could have happened judging by his lack of disciple with the shirt pull very soon after his booking. I expect he’ll start on Saturday if JBG doesn’t make it.
Re: Robbie Brady
Theres a few now who I don't think are upto the cut and thrust of our style of play, don't think its fair to name names....there not bad players, just not suited to our game.

Re: Robbie Brady
After every game there seems to be someone who has a pop at one of our players .
After a great win at Palace , ohhh look Ben will be missing , i bet Dyche puts in Long and he's useless , stealing a living pal .Now that was after winning 3-0 away from home. Today have to say i was happy with a draw in the end but pohhhh no Brady is garbage , sell him to Celtic and so on .
Hell knows who will get on Saturday if we Beat West Brom

Re: Robbie Brady
Had enough of him now. Always given him the benefit of the doubt previously but he offers absolutely nothing going forward and his attitude is questionable with most of his recovery ‘challenges’ petulant kicks, trips or pulls. His 20 minutes tonight were as bad as I’ve seen from any player. I think it will be best for both player and club if he moves on this summer.

Likely to be his last appearance in a Burnley shirt. Not that many games left to shake his injury or get in form.

Re: Robbie Brady
Was immense for 3 months in the season we finished 7th but a Sunday league player would have kept that out tonight. His key attribute of set pieces has turned into a keen eye for hitting the first man.
He's trying too hard. We all know he has ability but at his age and with his dip in confidence/form it's time to say thanks and let him have one last 2-4 yr contract contract on a decent wage, but it has to be elsewhere because we need our 11 firing!
His face on the bench tonight was because he knows his performance could have put that contract at risk IMO

Offers nothing. Can't beat a man. Cant defend. Set piece delivery poor. Rarely scores. Often injured. Ill disciplined. The sooner he leaves our club the better.

They don’t have to sell him, they could give him away tomorrow and I’d be a happy man. He’s a liability and a waste of a wage.Tribesmen wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 8:54 pmAfter every game there seems to be someone who has a pop at one of our players .
