BBC AND FULHAM
The BBC talk about Fulham as though they are a star team in a false position and we were lucky to hold them. They're ok but that's all, as are West Brom and Sheffield United, who will beat Fulham.

Fulham are media darlings who have wasted millions trying to recreate the team of the Al Fayed era without success
Question is will Scottie Parker survive relegation?

Sky could have renamed the programme last night as "Fulham's survival story".

Re: BBC AND FULHAM
Media darlings because they have managed 11,214 passes in their games and are currently 9th in that table ---for what its worth.
They have also had 15,952 touches and are 8th in that table.
In spite of all this, they have managed 20 goals, which is just 2 more than us, however, they offer passing statistics for the pundits ---unlike us, Sheffield United etc.
We took a bit of wind from their sails last night after their victory at Everton and I can see the possibility that the Blades will get a point or more on Saturday.

They had seven on-loan players starting the game against us. That's a ridiculous amount. They came up, played some 'nice' footie, and will probably drop back down again. They remind me a bit of last season's Bournemouth. Powderpuff.

Re: BBC AND FULHAM
Quite rightly Fulham are most peoples (excluding teams in direct competition) second/underdog team who they want to do well and therefore loved by the media. A few years ago that team was us and lets be honest we loved being the media darlings of the time and being popular with other fans made us very proud and happy
5 years on and we're now seen as a regular Premier League team who most outside our club find boring but Fulham are new, shiny and exciting and as long as it is not at our expense I really want them to be successful and stay up. Scott Parker seems like a really genuine and good guy to boot that makes the team even more popular

The media are what they've always been... it's a story and almost a perfect story for these Londoners.
Thought Fulham were very average in the first half, should have gone in 1 - 0 down, fluked a goal and held on for their point. Job done as far as they were concerned.

Re: BBC AND FULHAM
Every season someone gets labelled with media blinkers.
We have in the first seasons promoted with SD.
Last year it was Sheff Utd, this season Leeds. Now Leeds are old hat, because they get as many thumpings as wins, so Fulham have taken the mantle.
Next year it will be someone new, probably Brentford if they sort themselves out.
A bit like Talk Sport, they have to generate stories to create news. I'd take it with a pinch of salt, it isn't worth thinking about.

Re: BBC AND FULHAM
Rob Hawthorne was completely biased to Fulham last night.
The number of times he mentioned Brady could have been sent off if he had that second yellow for tugging a Fulham players shirt, yet never mentioned that loftus cheek could also have had a second yellow on a few occasions.
It was all about Fulham.
Fulham players fall over whether pushed or not.
Reed ( the forward) is a nasty and moaning player every game I have watched him play
Hope Sheffield United hammer them.

I think it was Durham who did the daily Arsenal and they also advertise West Ham season tickets on there, or have done in the past.
Plus they keep rolling out Harry Redknapp for his opinion.
Once they've done all that garbage, the rest of the shows are generally quite good

Re: BBC AND FULHAM
Saw the match Everton vs Fulham last week. It was one of the most complete performances by a so called un-fancied team that I have seen for a while. They played Everton off the park for 90 minutes. They rightly got a few plaudits for that showing.
Anyway I’ve kind of forgotten what point I’m trying to make. Suffice to say I wouldn’t be surprised if they pull off a survival act, though I hope Newcastle stay up - I feel kind of sorry for Brucie, he does seem to get a lot of undue flack, and seems like quite a nice fella.

its always the same with london teams. anytime MOTD feature arsenal, win lose or draw, the analysis seems to go on half the programme. doesnt matter what happens in our games, linekar just shrugs and mumbles some inane nonsense about us, and can hardly drag a word out of the disinterested pundits. abysmal .

The attention on Fulham is because the possibility of an unlikely escape is about the only unresolved PL issue this season
City are strolling to the title and up until last weekend the bottom three were adrift - Fulham have at least given themselves a lifeline - the media are desperate to maintain some level of interest in the season for as long as possible

Re: BBC AND FULHAM
Yes I think that's about right. Media would love one of the bottom 3 (and Fulham is the clear favourite) to effect a plausible escape bid whilst one of the more established teams got increasingly into trouble. I think Newcastle would suit them best with the Ashby/Bruce/Toon army aspects having a lot of mileage.EarbyClaret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 9:02 amThe attention on Fulham is because the possibility of an unlikely escape is about the only unresolved PL issue this season

At the top, they'll eulogize about City but probably the more interesting stories for them will become who makes up the other Champions League spots- especially as it concerns Man U, Liverpool Chelsea (maybe even WHU) - all got lots of points of interest.

I must admit that was my impression from the commentary too. I felt that the commentators were willing Fulham to break away and get a winner. A quick look at the "Friends of Fulham" forum gives a completely contrasting view, however. It just shows how different groups of fans can interpret the same coverage completely differently.DAVETHEVICAR wrote: ↑Thu Feb 18, 2021 5:57 pmRob Hawthorne was completely biased to Fulham last night.
