I'll defend him and say his bench was 2 keepers and 5 defenders due to several unfortunate injuries. But it stops there, because the players on the field were utterly dreadful!
You know we were allowed to sign players last month dont you ???

I said "we" meaning the club as a whole. If success is classed as playing like that today and against Fulham and staying in the Premier league then im sorry I'd rather we fail and play better football making it better to watch
Dom, just curious, how long have you been watching the Clarets?

it's 7 days ago when we played some brilliant footy away at Palace, nothing has changed
Actually we had 2 short spells, one at the start of each half, where we just couldn't go wrong.
Palace were as shocking then as we have been since.

That performance has it's roots in the failure to bring in a right winger in the last 2 windows. Brownhill is not the answer against teams that are happy to sit back.
But why is this??
Are we putting the search details into such a hard parameter?

1) must be 30 or older
2) from the championship
3) can dribble and have pace like Ronaldo/Messi
4) ideally English
5) happy to wait for 6 months to get a game (dyche fit)
6) cost under 2mill
7) accept 10/15k pw..

We now get 8 days without a game, a chance to get proper rest in and some players back.

Let's see how we get on with the next chunk of games.
3, or 4 if we are lucky from.the next 4 games.
That's why this double header v the sh1te teams was so important

Surely they cant be blamed for poor accuracy when being instructed to hit it 50+ yards in the air awful conditions ?

And before we get told they wssnt the instructions, we persisted with it for 93 minutes against the worst team in the league, who had 10 men for over an hour ..
50+ yards! They couldn't even pass it 10 yards most of the time!

Never seen us play as bad but having said that the conditions and injuries didn't help. I also think the players need a rest, they're almost at burn out. The blame has to be sorely on the players today, It's easy to blame Dyche but let's be honest, it's deeper than that, the word I'm looking for is "Recruitment" (or lack of it).
The same amount of rest was afforded after the Brighton draw to the palace performance to the WBA draw, if players are tired from only playing 1 game a week there’s something seriously wrong, young professional sportsmen playing 90 mins 1x a week with a 15 min break, tired burnt out somebody’s having a tinbath!

Dyche literally had no options today, if the players who started didn’t perform there was nothing he could do.

And boy they threw one in, it was a woeful performance but he decided to stick cos he couldn’t twist.

There are opinions and there is nonsense. Seems as some can't wait for a poor performance so they can come on here criticising.
I’ll agree most want to whinge after a game. Last Saturday was pretty quite on here but from those of us who don’t like a whinge we gave credit where it was due for that performance. After Fulham nothing much was said but that wasn’t good. Then you see that today. It was woeful and should be questioned. Yet as the manager he takes plaudits when it goes right and should take the stick when it goes wrong. I’ll say it again zero shots and I can’t really blame that on the forwards. They had nothing fed to them. Yet his change was a forward for a forward???

So the awful performances of the players was because they weren't inspired and motivated! ;) And as for tactics, it doesn't matter what they are if the players can't even pass the ball 10 yards to a colleague.

He's done well in the main, especially considering he's being used out on the flank regularly.

Feel free to carry on slating him though.

Maybe shut the board down then CT fora few hours if you aren’t happy with opinions after a game.

I did say it was originally a silly post but then as righting it I thought maybe not that silly. Why can’t Dyche be cashed out when he and his team haven’t performed?
It really is laughable how uptight he gets when someone doesn’t share the same opinion he has.

A guy who runs a message board who can’t stand it when people share their thoughts. Madness.

The buck stops with the manager
100% agree.

However, he can only pick a first 11 from the pool of players at his disposal. If that pool is lacking depth and quality due to lack of financial backing. Then, inevitably, that will materialise in the standard of performance on show today.

Pep, Cloughie or Sir Alex would struggle to get a tune out of that squad.......

Embarrassing performance and blame somewhat directed at Dyche.
This aint Football Manager on a console mate.
Play with some width = yeah, go 4-3-3, loads of width there.

You practice passing on the training ground and you set your team up to try and play football. Sean gets far too negative and needs to be braver in his tactical set up. Whenever he is we do well. But this week he went into his shell again. That was terrible today. However he will keep us up and we need to regroup and hope the summer really does bring improvements to the squad.

I told myself not come on here after that "performance" but thought I'd have a peep.

It was an absolutely shocking game of football and we were lucky not to lose it (although bang on penalty not being given doesn't help!).

But, saying that, as always there are just the utmost stupid, over the top comments by the same posters who assume a season is based on one 90 minute game. And for that reason I am even more annoyed at myself for reading this thread.

He was playing on the right wing. He isn’t a right winger and had never looked comfortable in that position for us. When’s he’s played in the middle he’s looked far better.

That was crap, but we are a very tired bare-bones squad. Basically, for the last couple of seasons we've been competing in the EPL on Championship money.

Mr Dyche has my 100% support.

Mr Garlick failed us for several windows and cocked up contracts.

He is probably responsible for the lack of enterprise and depth and has tte Bank balance to show for his efforts.

You're coming across as the sort of person who didn't appreciate David Jones.

He's playing out of position, in an odd season and in a squad littered with tired and injured players.

You're asking what he's bringing to the PL, but right now I can't see what you're bringing to this discussion apart from stupidity...

Dyche had no options today because the club failed to rectify the glaring problems with the squad obvious to everybody at the end of last season, during which we had periods of the bench being filled with a mix of goalkeepers and youngsters.

Instead, the windows closed with Dyche declaring that he was "happy with his squad."

Yes, I think so.

It would indicate he was as embarrassed about it as us.
Why should he be embarrassed! A point and a clean sheet from a very poor performance but I'm sure that he'll be as disappointed as us fans, if not even more so.

Yes. He knew palace were weak and lacking in confidence and told the team to be on the front foot. Fulham and wba he went back to being very cautious.

But strong that pal. Some people do go overboard with wins and losses. It’s called a difference in opinion but Dyche can’t be questioned in some peoples eyes.
Dyche can be questioned.

I think the issue is when the questioning is downright stupid.

Sean Dyche said we were crap on 5Live earlier, at least he knows. It annoys me when he takes up a poor performance, but he hasn’t today

Could work out to be a decent point. Terrible performance but these lads are running on empty at the minute..
