Bill Shankly quote has been apposite these last few days

If you can't support us when we lose or draw, don't support us when we win.

I don’t tend to complain much but frustration is not the same as showing a lack of support. I’m sure all of us say things to family members on occasion when we are concerned or alarmed about their actions or behaviour. It’s when silence takes hold that we should really start to worry.

Would not supporting the club mean walking away from it and not mentioning again?

Heading to a Burnley themed messageboard after a bad performance and venting frustrations, just shows you have passion for the club.

If you're not bothered how they play or about the result, then maybe best to get a hobby you have a passion about?

Some of the comments aimed at Dyche and the team's so-called lack of commitment had nothing to do with passion.

I'm trying to convince myself that it is quite fun to be in a relegation battle (winning the title isn't really an option) and if we were 12th with 33/34 points the season would be done.

I said "trying".

Would they say such things if they didn't care?

They just want the club or the manager to improve on things.

We all do, its just that some articulate it a lot better than others.
Frustration is understandable, anger and bile isn't.

So they show they care by slagging off the team for being lazy and disinterested and saying that Dyche can **** off and we'd be better off without him ?
Give over, Quicken.

Apparently wanting the best for your team is seen as not supporting them by half this board.

Yes, some are educated to higher standard.

Our support doesn't generally come from the educational elite.

They are allowed a different opinion to you and everybody else. It's the sort of point of a message board isn't it?

Do you really need to be higher educated to stop yourself from telling Dyche to **** off out the club or to slate any player who has the nerve to have an off day.

Strange how they suddenly remember their education when we win

Who says they aren't ?

And, no, I don't think the point of a messageboard is to lay into the team and its manager like that.

I've never actually posted a an angry critical comment regarding our players or managers especially our managers because even though the results might not be good enough I don't think it's because they are not doing their best as I say just not good enough and I don't expect whatever is said on this board is going to change things. I remember being on a London bus 25th May 2009 I was with my sister and my nephew still on cloud 9 a gentleman saw the scarves and struck a conversation, he was a QPR fan, he congratulated the Clarets on what they had done that afternoon and said "it's a tough place to be but YOU ARE THERE and that's the highest level and enjoy the ride high or low" He had been there he knew what he was saying and there was a time I never believed we would, I take it for what it is .. dining at the top table.
