Pope - 7 kept it respectable
Lowton 6
Tarky 5
Mee 5
Taylor 5
Brownhill 4
Westwood 4
Cork 4
McNeil 5
Jay 5
Vydra 4

A shocking start and never really recovered, we probably were better going forward today than against WBA, however Spurs were very open and could smell blood. We often look more attacking once behind.

Another really poor day at the office, and after a much wanted, needed and spoken about 8 days rest.

Brownhill 5
Vydra 4
Jay 6

The reason I went 5 for the midfield is they actually had little chance today with how we set up and then started that game.
SD has got to judge games against certain opposition better and show more flexibility with his tactics.

Nowhere near as bad as sone on the match thread were making out. West Brom was awful. Thus was a big I.provement hut we suffered from a lack of midfield width both offensively and defensively today. And both our centre backs looked v lethargic. That put both full backs under a lot of pressure and they have a prolific pace-to-burn forward line that most sides in Europe would like.

Anyway...

Pope 7 great save from Son. No chance with any goals
Lowton 7 - mom good going forward and did his best defensively too
Tarks 5 - sloppy. To slow to close Kane for n 2
Mee 5 - bad choice to play offside for first
Taylor 5 - struggled but zero help from Dwight
Brownhill 4 - anonymous 2nd half
Cork 7- battled and worked hard
Westwood 6 - played some decent passes
McNeill 4 - not offering any threat at the moment and I'm totally at a loss as to what his game is supposed to be
Jay 6  - worked hard
Vydra 4 - as per, missed two good chances. Hopefully everyone will finally agree that he's not the answer up front

Wood. 6 good to see him back

Both Cork and westy played alright but little either side and meant we were exposed down the channels a lot. But I have no idea where McNeil is supposed to be playing. He's not helping his full back, drifting all over and invariably makes the wrong choices

Brownhill - 4
Westy - 4
Cork - 4
McNeil - 4
Jay Rod - 4
Vydra - 6

Wood - 4
Stephens - 4
Richardson - 6

Started bad and got worse. Tarky had an absolute nightmare and the midfield 2 were literally chocolate fire guards. I understand Brownhill is playing out of position but my goodness you can tell. The only only bright spot in that absolute shower was seeing Richardson for 5 minutes. He did more in that 5 than Jay did in 88. Spurs were devastating in front of goal but my god we gift wrapped every goal they scored. IF, and it’s a big if, we survive this season we need at least half a dozen players because we are really showing our age now.

Our usual woeful "passing" was a tiny bit better, but for some reason our usually solid defence was wide open this afternoon. The way the rigid midfield unit set up was just horrible to witness, affording Spurs' much better players all the time in the world to do whatever they wanted.

Pope 7
Lowton 7
Tarkowski 6
Mee 6.5
Taylor 5 (was walked up and down the pitch by Bale)

Brownhill 5.5 (lots of effort)
Cork 6
Westwood 5.2
MacNeil 5.5 (showed flashes of brilliance but struggled)

Rodriguez 5
Vydra 5.25 (worked his tail off. No where near clinical but fought incredibly hard in some build up play.)

Wood 5.5 (looked a threat needs to shake off rust.)

Richardson 6 (EARNED 2 corners in 5 minutes. Had some skill on the ball. Would love to see more of him. Congrats on a Prem debut.)

Forgot Stephens. Put in some work. 5

Pope - 7.
Lowton 7 MOM.
Tarks 6.
Mee 6.
Taylor 5. Played them onside for the 1st, still not 100% fit maybe.
Brownhill 6.
Westwood 5
Cork 6
McNeil 5
Jay 7
Vydra 4

A lousy start so difficult to recover but more urgency in the second and kept the score down.

Marks for the second half manly as all poor in the 1st apart from Pope and a couple others.

Pope 7 - some good saves but thought his anticipation was poor on the first. Did nothing to narrow the angle. Sloppy distribution.
Lowton 8* - our best player, some good delivery into the box but unfortunately Sanchez won everything.
Tarks 4 - some really poor passing and positional play today.
Mee 5 - largely at fault for the first which completely changed the whole game.
Taylor 4 - a good cross to Vydra apart that's the worst I can ever remember seeing him play.
Brownhill 4 - I like him but he ran himself out of position and out of our shape time and time again today. Silly decision to try and clear it for their second when he could just have got goal side also.
Cork 5 - outplayed for the most part, beat and tidy on the ball.
Westwood 5 - used the ball fairly well but struggled against their midfield 3.
McNeil 5 - tried to make things happen but his final ball was terrible today.
Jay Rod 4 - didn't attack the ball well enough from good crosses and not sharp enough to capitalise on openings.
Vydra 4 - some good movement particularly early on but really lightweight and chose the wrong decisions consistently

Wood 4 - dread to see his pass completion.

Some reasonable football and we got into some good positions but unfortunately we were nowhere near good enough in either box today. We cant play that open against sides with that quality. Let's hope those games against Fulham, Brighton and West Brom dont cost us....

Pope - 7 Mixed bag.
Lowton - 7 Best passer in the team atm MOM
Mee - 6 new name should be Meh
Tarks - 5 Already dreaming of playing for a far better team...
Taylor - 4 Just not able to get forward, totally left exposed by the lost McNeill
McNeil - 5 Tried to create things, but at the expense of defending...
Westwood - 5 Lost in midfield today
Cork - 5 Totally over ran
Brownhill - 3 Was he playing???
Jay Rod - 3 He looks totally shot
Vydra - 4 Tries, but offers literally no goal threat at all.

Wood 6 Won a few balls, needed a run out to get back into it.
I thought Lewis R looked infinitely better than the hopeless Um Bongo!

Some of the marks for Lowton are, let's say, enlightening. As a defender his primary roll is to have a hand in stopping the opposition scoring. Today he was so woefully out of position throughout that he spent more time out of position than in position

Pope 6
Lowton 5
Tarks 5 think this ends the debate that Tarks would be good in a top team. Any team he is not protected we concede loads of goals.
Mee 5
Taylor 4
Brownhill 3 truly astounded he is a premier league footballer
Cork 5
Westwood 4
McNeil 5
Jay 4
Vydra 4

Another painful watch, the football we are producing this season is absolutely shocking. Il say it again not signing anyone in January was criminal from the new owners

Pope 7 - good saves
Lowton 6 - out of position a lot but worryingly looks like our best attacking threat currently
Taylor 6 - doesn’t look fully fit
Mee 5- 1st goal?
Tarkowski 6 -average
Westwood 6 - as above
Cork - as above
Brownhill 6 - what on earth was he trying to do for the 2nd goal?
Vydra 6 - average missed a sitter
Jay Rod 6 - looks like he’s lost a yard of pace

Game plan over in 60 seconds with some woeful defending which then carried on for each of their goals. Yet again Dyche going blindingly with a 442 against one of the better teams and failing to change anything. Amazingly we could still have scored a few ourselves but 17 games in which we haven’t scored or really tested an opposition keeper. Nervy end to the season ahead.

Strange game. Bottom line is though when we concede early against a "Big" side we all know we are going to struggle. However in between goals we looked tidier in possession and then sloppy defending buggered us up.

Pope 6 - Criticised on TV but the first goal was all about very poor defence. Tarky not cutting out cross. Mee not marking Bale and Taylor playing him on. Two very good saves second half to keep his transfer value high so that Pace and his mates can cash in during the Summer
Lowton 5 - At least tried to get us on the front foot but not a lot went right for him
Tarkowski 5 Looked a tad disinterested and didn't improve his transfer value. Similar to West Ham goal. This time Tarky flicked header undid Mee
Mee 5 Not his best performance
Taylor 4 - Really not looking his usual self last week and this and I would prefer Erik at the minute. Well off the pace and not linking up well with Dwight at all
Brownhill 5 Personally I was not getting the hype around him but was starting to warm to him. He's a tryer though. I can imagine him being brilliant in the Championship
Cork 5 I thought he tried but midfield was a weak point overall today and he toiled in vain.
Westwood 5 I think Westy is going through a poor phase of games. Its a pity Stephens is shoite or else he could be on the bench
McNeil 5 Two bad games in a row and we need him back on form pronto
Vydra 5 I'd have loved him to take his chance of a few games in the starting 11 but its not happening.
Rodriguez 4 I love Jay Rod but he is looking very poor at the minute and really should not be in the starting 11.

Wood Never going to make an impression at 4-0 but hopefully a run out will help
Stephens Meh
Richardson I know not on long enough but hey the only bright spot

Pope 7 (No blame)
Lowton 6
Tarks 6
Mee 5 (Sometimes he's badly exposed against genuine class, pace and skill)
Taylor 6
Weswood 5
Cork 5
Brownhill 4
McNeil 6
Vydra 6 (Looks pretty good tbh and poses a real threat, but sadly can't stick the ball in the net)
Jayrod 4 (Tending to impersonate a Thwaites drayhorse these days and I'm not entirely sure why or how he can change it)

Stephens 6
Wood 7
Richardson N/A

How bizarre that we looked decent going forward pretty much all game and really should have scored at least one. We SEEMED to dominate second have territorially, but their pace and skill, not to mention body strength was all too much for us, especially after a nightmare start. Like many on here I've championed Vydra in the past and again today I thought he looked sharp and lively and posed them real problems, but he's paid to score and he had 2 or 3 presentable chances and didn't take them. Time to move on I fear. Jayrod on the other hand was simply hopeless! (again)
Not a game we'd target for points and not actually the worst we've played, despite the scoreline, but we weren't great by any means and we're so often so far from being the Burnley we've come to know and expect that it's genuinely worrying going forward.

Pope 7 Can`t blame him for the goals
Lowton 6
Tarky 4
Mee 4
Taylor 4
Brownhill 4
Westwood 4
Cork 4
McNeil 4 Unfortunately he isn`t good enough to be our only creative source, defensively inept and still turning back towards his own goal to often
Jay 4 Works his socks off but just not up to it at the moment
Vydra 4 Another who works hard and fights for the ball but there has to be an end product, sadly there isn`t, having said that the service to both front men was the usual abysmal crap.

Wood 4 good to see him back but contributed nowt today
Richardson 7 Not an easy game for your debut but the lad done good in the short time he was on.

Dyche 3 If ever a game cried out for 4-5-1 this was it especially given their front 4. Sorry but besides having no plan B, he displays tactically inept management IMO, he surely has to be more flexible in his approach in team formation/selection appropriate to the quality/line up of the opposition. It`s not being unkind to say that man for man Spurs quality far supersedes our team and we should set up with that in mind.

Pope 6
Lowton 6
Tarks 5 poor by their high standards
Mee 5 see above
Taylor 6 a tad exposed
Westwood 5 not his type of game against pace ( not Alan)
Cork 5 see above
McNeil 6 ( 6 for attacking intent 0 for defending)
Brownhill 5 poor lad playing out of position
Vydra 5 his opportunity to make a claim is fast disappearing
Jay 4 looks lost

Wood and Vydra a better option up front for next two games

Dyche needs to play FM21 - lots of tactical variations to choose from - midfield was just overrun ..... at least we don’t have to wait on the platform for the train back into Central London!

Our tactic of giving Bale acres of space just didn't work!

Pope. 7
Lawton. 7*
Mee. 6
Talks. 6
Taylor. 4
Brown hill 4
Westwood 6
Cork. 6
McNeil. 4
Jayrod. 4
Vydra. 4

Mee moved out for the first goal and Taylor who was behind him didn't follow. Poor from Taylor who really isn't offering much at the moment. Defending poorly and doing nothing in attack. He's not helped by Dwight who is very poor. Because he's "one of our own" he doesn't get the criticism others get. He constantly loses the ball around the half way line and puts us under pressure. People on here talk as if he's a top class premier league player but I doubt he would feature in many other premier league teams.
I like Brownhill for his energy but he's not a right sided winger. Jayrod just not at it at the moment and poor old Vydra tries hard with no success.
Once again when up against a top manager Sean's tactical naivety was exposed. For once he had players on the bench who could have changed things but even when he did make substitutions they were like for like.
