Clarets Fan Survey
I've just received and completed mine. Is this a new survey commissioned by the new owners - it's a pretty extensive one.
Re: Clarets Fan Survey
Done. Quite detailed isn’t it. Right Down to the pie question

It is an interesting one but I don't think we can complain at ST or m'day prices.

Sounds like it’s better than the last one I completed which had more questions about my religion or how I identified than the matchday experience.

Re: Clarets Fan Survey
Its interesting to see what they do with it.
Has something for everyone in there.
Just picture the board meeting now..
Mr Pace - "Next on the agenda - fans survey feedback. What did the tell us?"
Mr Garlick - starts to shift a little bit in his seat
Head of communications - "In short - they want you to invest more and charge less"
Mr Pace - "errr..." looks for comfort from Mr Garlick
Mr Garlick - "operation radio silence usually worked well"
Mr Pace - "Darren - can you shut my social media accounts down please? - Next on the agenda - Who wants to be the new CEO?"

It's only personal data they already have for most of us, but it's designed to get more off new people rather than fix things on the list.

Re: Clarets Fan Survey
Just Not sure some of the questions are that relevant.
England’s favourite underdog? Really? Who has recently described us as that?
Re introduce the red rose of Lancashire to the club identity? Do you mean change the club badge to incorporate the red rose? If so, say so. Seems like an exercise in rebranding to me.
Got to the third question and sort of got frustrated, as the answers could well be the only answers they want to hear.
Maybe I should have another look, and stop being so cynical.

Re: Clarets Fan Survey
Alan Pace has said that is his vision - to be the underdogs - sounds like the US version of saying we are punching above our weight to me? I think the underdog story could start if we go on to be successful - i.e. winning a cup/qualifying for europe and getting a decent way into the competition but to be happy to survive the premier league and finish ahead of three other teams as a success is not the story hollywood are going to make a movie about.bobinho wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 8:47 pmJust Not sure some of the questions are that relevant.

Yep - lets be like that other club with the red rose in it..
I think some of the questions have been done by individuals who have never been in the ground on a full matchday because who on earth gets access to stadium wifi during the game or at half time.
It is worth persevering with the questions but not sure what they will do with the answers.
I never see any follow up to these surveys so at times it does feel like a pointless exercise. Would be good to see some follow up.

Re: Clarets Fan Survey
I said that our first couple of seasons we were, other fans saw us as a plucky team punching above our weight but the longer we've stayed in the prem that's certainly changed although I don't know how we are perceived outside of the UK.bobinho wrote: ↑Tue Mar 02, 2021 8:47 pmJust Not sure some of the questions are that relevant.

Re: Clarets Fan Survey
I don't really get the "favourite underdogs" bit as football fans don't really carry much love for other clubs in their heart and we are certainly not many people's favourite other team. Feels far-fetched to think that people without any attachment to Burnley , and in other countries, will buy into this strapline. There are always underdogs in the Premier League and a club which has just come up from the Championship is more likely to be the neutral's favourite than a club like us who have been "hanging around" for a few seasons.
Having a red rose on our shirts would be a bit naff I think..and I speak as a proud Lancastrian...as it smacks of when West Ham recently added the word "London" to their badge, much to the derision of the other clubs in the capital. If it's incorporated within the club badge in some way then fair enough.
As others have said I cant believe there will be single person who doesn't tick the box for more investment in the first team !
Anyway at least the club have at last provided the appropriate instrument to demand the return of mushy peas so I'm happy.

I've completed it. If nothing else it seems a continued improvement with supporter engagement. I expect many of the answers from our fan base to be similar, a blind man on a galloping horse can see that.
I welcome more engagement from the owners.

Hopefully they can do a bit better than pasting the twitter social media link not twice, but 3 times at the end of the survey. Both Instagram and Facebook links go to twitter.
Nonetheless, filled out. Amazing that something as simple as this was overlooked until now.

Re: Clarets Fan Survey
Just seen this.
I thought the engagement was good but little different to what has gone before (though obviously the acting on some of the themes rather than lip service may differ).
I did think though there was a lack of any “original” questions, such as getting supporter ideas on any strategic developments, there was nothing about ground redevelopment (or relocation), nothing about the incorporation of the ladies team (or similar ideas), nothing to expand thoughts on boxes ticked where a free text field may have led to some great new ideas.
For example, giving us suggestions and then “tick the two that you prefer” could have had a free text field to explain why. Some questions did and some did not.
A decent first effort though. 6/10 for the questionaire. Hopefully 10/10 for the acting on it afterwards.

Re: Clarets Fan Survey
Just completed it, and then saw the link to it on the Club's F/B page & some of the comments ... " I got bored after 10 questions, and packed up ", " I was required to give my age, income etc " .... Firstly, if you get bored after 10 questions of a 12 minute survey about something you profess to be passionate about, then God help you ! Secondly, you were not " required " to give any such information, " I prefer not to answer " is always there as an option ...
A new Owner is conducting a largescale inclusive survey of his new Business's supporters/customers, covering large aspects of the Club's day to day operations, what's not to like ?

Since the age of 9, I I have had nightly dreams of nothing but a Subbuteo version of Turf Moor with LED advertising (the dream is lucid enough to note ALL FOUR SIDES)
Occasionally, (when playing City or Rochdale) the dreams allow me to focus on the content of the LED on ALL FOUR SIDES.
This is revealed to be a continual horizontal scrolling of PSTOTTO's musings, mashed up with VIZ advertisements.

I never see any follow up to these surveys so at times it does feel like a pointless exercise. Would be good to see some follow up.
I’ve only worked at one place where annual surveys were actually run properly, where as a management group we would update on progress actions quarterly.
Ahead of the new survey each year, our Ops Director would run a ‘you said we did’ exercise - partly to ensure that everyone realised their voice is important, partly to keep the completion scores up and of course, and most importantly, to ensure the we’d be achieving the necessary scores come bonus time!!
Even if things can’t be done, understanding why that is the case is encouraging to a lot of people.
Hopefully this is one of the positive ones.
