Sir Ian mclelelelelean
Sir Ian mclelelelelean
Great actor. And personality. Absolute legend.
Re: Sir Ian mclelelelelean
BTW Sean Connery was originally offered the role of Gandalf. Imagine how crap that'd be. "I am a shervant of the shecret fire, wielder of the flayme of anor...you cannot pash"

Did anyone on the board know him before he left Burnley
Re: Sir Ian mclelelelelean
Too much is made of the Burnley thing, I think. He was an infant child when his parents moved away.

Re: Sir Ian mclelelelelean
I attended the same school when he was the “Head Boy”
Was obvious that he would end up as a top Shakespearian Actor.

Born on Scott Park Road, but then moved away ... his father was a Mining Engineer.
To be fair, in May 2019, he performed his one man show free to raise funds for Burnley Youth Theatre on it's reopening after flood damage. He then did another show at the " Mechanics " as part of his 80 date tour ....

Re: Sir Ian mclelelelelean
A few years ago, my mate who lives on Scott Park Road was alerted by his wife to the fact that there was a tramp in their front garden. He went to investigate and said tramp looked up and said "I'm awfully sorry but I think I lived here when I was a child". My mate then realised he was conversing with Sir Ian. They had a pleasant chat and he went on his way. And no, he'd got the wrong house!!
