Point gained...
Wood could’ve won it, but with two penalty shouts, Pepe missing a sitter and hitting the post in the dying seconds, that’s a point gained!

I’d have bitten your hand off for a 1-1 before the game kicked off. Edging towards safety

100%
We could have scored. Wood definitely should’ve. But the first hand ball was definitely a penalty imo.
but they’ve had their luck down the years

Decent point, we deserve one decision after the stuff in the past. I thought Vydra was excellent in the second half.

I'll explainiIt, it's simple. We definitely gained a point and Arsenal definitely lost two points.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 2:32 pmsuperdimitri wrote:

Re: Point gained...
I wasn't overly critical of us in the first half. There were signs we were growing into the game. Tremendous energy and desire in the second half saw us win our midfield battles and press well and high. Vydra and Wood have both played well in the last 2 games and there are signs of a better understanding developing.
Definitely a point won. We celebrated like a win in my house. Vital point, spirited performance and the rest of the weekend to enjoy.

Just what the media reports. 'Arsenal lose 2 points'. Like they'd been awarded 3 before the game started.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 2:32 pmsuperdimitri wrote:

I felt sure that we were going to lose that at the end.
Splendid.

Re: Point gained...
Possibly the best point we have earned this season. To take 4 points from Arsenal is a good achievement. Pressure all on the other sides below us now. If we can get a point off Arsenal then there are more points to be had in our run in

Re: Point gained...
We have just witnessed a fine example of karma. Remember all those dodgy Arsenal penalties against us, those injury time goals and those handball goals?
Well it was payback time today and I’m sure Dyche is a lot karma than Arteta right now.

Re: Point gained...
Always feel we're about to be shafted by Arsenal.
Didn't happen today.
Happy with a point we deserved on our 2nd half showing.

Re: Point gained...
We’ll be absolutely fine. Despite all the dramatics on here we have lost only one in the last seven. Some of those were against teams near the bottom but we have also played Leicester, Spurs and Arsenal.

Re: Point gained...
Definitely a point gained, and on the evidence of the last 2 games we won't be anywhere near the bottom 3 come May.
In fact if you discount our sluggish start (2 points in 7 games) we've been comfortably showing higher mid-table form throughout the season, 28 points in the following 21 games, which over the season amounts to roughly 50 points or so.

I said a we needed 2 points from the 4 games, so anything at Everton is a bonus.

Agreed-we would be on 35-37 points by now and probably safe, but with all the injuries it was to be expectedtiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 3:35 pmDefinitely a point gained, and on the evidence of the last 2 games we won't be anywhere near the bottom 3 come May.

Re: Point gained...
True! what's been impressive is how SD didn't panic and stuck to his guns, and in the last few months we're slowly getting better, and more importantly also putting points on the board when we don't play at our best, that is why we won't be involved in the relegation scrap come the business end of the season. we can grind out scrappy results, which others down there just can't do, and that's the difference.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 3:54 pmAgreed-we would be on 35-37 points by now and probably safe, but with all the injuries it was to be expected
Re: Point gained...
Magnificent point imo especially considering it was our third tough game in 6 days.
Two soft goals A pen denied for each team. A big chance missed by both teams. Thought we dominated the second half and it would have an injustice if Arsenal had nicked it at the end.
Great team effort by what has to be an exhausted group.

Re: Point gained...
I've got a funny feeling we'll get 3 points at Everton, just look at how poor their home form has been against the lesser lights, and if Fulham and Newcastle can go to Goodison and claim a victory, then we sure as hell can also.claretandy wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 3:45 pmI said a we needed 2 points from the 4 games, so anything at Everton is a bonus.

Re: Point gained...
A very good performance Dwight and Robbie turned up and in the second half we rose to snuff out Arsenals threat
Although it was definitely a case of deja vu when the ref awarded a very dodgy penalty
Thank goodness for VAR it was teams like cheating Arsenal it was designed for

Re: Point gained...
We dug in today and our defence put themselves on the line AGAIN.
As was said in commentary, the character of those players means that we are staying up !
Well done lads !

Re: Point gained...
Well I wouldn't go that far yet but I know what you mean as Everton are storming away from home but not at Goodison.
See what our injury situation is like next week.
