Re: Todays other footy 6/3
That was justice because Vardy should have had a pen. If you look closely you can see they think dunk touches it out but it was actually Vardy that got to it first.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Big appeal for a Leicester peno, narrowly turned down by Var- then Leic score anyway after the goalie flaps at a corner & misses.
Might be fun to visit that BHA forum again tonight

Vardy looked for the pen

Excellent result. Hopefully the Baggies can do us a favour too.

For all their pretty footy they're now winless in 6, 3 defeats on the spin, and they've only won 5 all season.Conroysleftfoot wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 9:51 pmPotter will stick to his footballing philosophy.....right in to the Championship.
But they're easy on the eye aren't they, and surely that's all that matters isn't it.

Justice at Brighton on Phil Bird's birthday. How very fitting.WazzaClaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 9:47 pmThat was justice because Vardy should have had a pen. If you look closely you can see they think dunk touches it out but it was actually Vardy that got to it first.

How anyone could want Newcastle to go down over Brighton after how unbearable they've been since we won the champ is beyond me

Brighton ....the gift that keeps giving.....late on ...love it,if it wasn't for the current bottom three already being relegated..I would have loved to see these go down.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
I saw Brighton were 11/1 to be relegated before they kicked off tonight. I thought they were crazy odds. They’ve now shortened to 15/2 and are now justifiably at shorter odds than us. I don’t think they’ll go down but 11/1 is just silly.

It'd be worth Newcastle going down just to see Hendrick and Shearer's tears.WazzaClaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 10:08 pmHow anyone could want Newcastle to go down over Brighton after how unbearable they've been since we won the champ is beyond me

They were 20/1 last week, this is the first time that their odds are shorter than ours.

Well I do. Just because of Mike Ashley. Want him to take them down 3 times and see their value plummet,WazzaClaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 10:08 pmHow anyone could want Newcastle to go down over Brighton after how unbearable they've been since we won the champ is beyond me

Jeff Hendrick is the top league goalscorer in Newcastle United's starting XI. He's had one shot on target since the opening weekend.

Do they have a strong team. The lack of character without Henderson and VVD is amazing

With what's at stake, you'd expect both teams to be going for it. Pitiful !

On this showing, neither West Brom or Newcastle will finish above us at the end of the season.

WBA are infuriating
Re: Todays other footy 6/3
I've been listening on the radio, I really like Chris Iwelumo's intensity and the main guy who's commentating (Jordan something?). They don't half make it exciting to listen to.

There’s no way we are worse than those 2 sides. They were awful today both of them.

True. If I was that bad the last thing I’d want is draw attention to myself.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
I recall Joe Cole saying yesterday that there is no way Burnley are going down.
I tend to agree - injuries harmed us, particularly to Mee early on (though the fixtures were tough), other than that we are mid table and no worse than Wolves, Leeds, Palace etc.
I know we had one bad game against WBA but that match of theirs today just tells me the above is true. Fulham look miles better than either.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Comparing Phillips at Liverpool to Mee and Tarky would be too insulting to our guys, the gap is too large, but even somebody like Gibson seems far better than Phillips. I’m amazed they went for him given how many games he would have to play.
No way Fulham don’t score today.

Some of these Liverpool stand-ins are miles off the required standard.
It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if the gap between us and the bottom three is down to 4 points by 4pm.
