Never seen such a poor Liverpool team. Anyone would fancy playing them at the moment.
Fulham always looked too good to go down though to me. I mentioned this much earlier in the season and was ridiculed by some on here.

It's far too close for comfort, plus we still have to visit Craven Cottage, thankfully we also have the likes of Southampton and Newcastle to play, so we should be ok, but it's getting too bleeding tight for my liking, and Fulham have that crucial ingredient behind them called momentum, I can see them staying up from here, so that Newcastle home game is becoming a must win in my eyes.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 3:07 pmThey're currently 4 points behind us as it stands.
Is that nowhere near?

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Played well Fulham and deserved the three points. Parker has them well drilled and playing some decent football at the moment.

Makes our games against Fulham and Newcastle
six pointers for sure.
After the win at Anfield Fulham will think they can stay up
and not many would bet against them.
And they've got a better goal difference than us and Newcastle.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Fulham deserved that. They are a good team. Since I watched them beat Leicester away a few months back I've thought they had a strong chance. Parker has them very well organised defensively and they still look such a threat going forward, albeit they probably don't convert enough of their chances. They've scored more and conceded fewer goals than us.
Brighton and Newcastle will rightly be very, very nervous now. Possibly us too but I'd always back us to grind out a victory or two when needed so we'll be fine.

Fulham are a good team don't concede many and nick the odd goal, and are putting a run together at the right time think they will easily be safe

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Good win for Fulham, and certainly not unexpected given how awful Liverpool are.
We're effectively in a four team league with Newcastle, Brighton and Fulham. We are currently top of that league and we just need to avoid finishing bottom of it.
Not a great result for us, but far from panic stations.

Cant see all three sides passing us. We might end up in 17th but I cant see Dyche taking us down from this position as it would be a right bottle job and that just isn't us

No fluke whatsoever, the Cottagers have been watertight at the back over the last 3 months with only Manchester City conceding fewer goals than Fulham. Andersen was superb at the back organising the defence and, as captain. leading by example. Have done some excellent business in the Loan Market and are looking good for PL safety.

Sky will have to concentrate on the relegation battle from now until the end of the season. It's going to be more interesting than the fight for the title.

No shock result today in Liverpool then today.
Pitty. Was hoping they'd manage a home win for once.

The concern for Burnley is that they have only beaten Sheffield United out of the teams below them. Last year they tonked all three relegated sides home and away to love.
They need to find their shooting boots if they are not to become embroiled in any last day dramas which I hope we can avoid as my quack has told me to avoid any stress.

They need to stop Carragher commentating on Liverpool games. It’s seriously depressing and he talks like someone has died when they fall behind in games.
Rather than saying how well Fulham were playing he just talked about how bad Liverpool were.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Been saying for a few weeks not to underestimate Fulham and people on here shot me down, comparing their recent points tally at the time to ours
They are quite capable of not losing another game (Man City next week will be a test but its doable to draw). They are very tight in defence (just look at their goal difference which for someone at the bottom is good). THey were also robbed of a point v Spurs.
Newcastle & Brighton must be very worried now. Few twists and turns to come

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
To think a few weeks ago some posters were mocking others for suggesting Fulham could catch us. 11 point gap to 4 in the space of a few weeks, where we haven't actually done too bad ourselves, is a bit concerning.

Very concerning.
Don’t really get the sense from the way we’re playing that our players feel like they’re in a relegation battle. We are, unfortunately.

Looking like we could need a minimum of 37pts to stay up. If all the teams below find form it could even be 40

Brighton v Newcastle 20 March could be interesting

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Hmm! I'm not sure 37 will be enough now, a few weeks ago I'd have been confident that number would have sufficient, but with the upturn in Fulham's form it might be higher, an awful lot depends on our results against Newcastle & Fulham, win both and we'll be fine, even 4 points wouldn't be too shabby, but draw one or both, or even worse lose both, and we could be staring down the barrel.Top Claret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:38 pmLooking like we could need a minimum of 37pts to stay up. Thankfully neither Brighton or Newcastle can seem to string a set of results together, so we still have every chance of finishing above one or both of them.
Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Won't be any more than 37.Top Claret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:38 pmLooking like we could need a minimum of 37pts to stay up. If all the teams below find form it could even be 40

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Think it’s more the last 5 really. We’ve played well at times (Leicester) but also very poorly against WBA & Arsenal (first half).
Not suggesting we’ve been lacking effort. I never question that, but just don’t sense there’s the real urgency to win games at the moment. WBA against ten men being the real example. Few times yesterday where I thought we didn’t really take the game on considering how desperately we need 3 points.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Tripps is back in the Atletico side for today's vital Madrid derby, and right now he and they are heading for a big win, leading Real 1-0 with about 15 minutes remaining, victory here would send them 5 clear of Barca, and 8 clear of Real and still with a game in hand on both the Spanish giants.

I'm with you on that one..should have been sacked when he gobbed on that kid...quite easily the worst commentator/ pundit Sky have ever employed...and his love for "Trent" is kinda worrying.djemba-djemba wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:18 pmThey need to stop Carragher commentating on Liverpool games. Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Iam not sure what more you want tbh... Leicester game their goalie was man of the match, and yesterday Leno made two excellent saves in the 2nd half, so how much more can we take the game on against 2 top sides?NewClaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:49 pmThink it’s more the last 5 really. If Fulham get anything off City I'll start to worry but until then I'll stick with my prediction Fulham get nowhere near us, which obviously means we will stay up.warksclaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:24 pmBeen saying for a few weeks not to underestimate Fulham and people on here shot me down, comparing their recent points tally at the time to ours

The game they both have in hand on us is against each other.SalisburyClaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:46 pmBrighton and Newcastle have a game in hand on us so it’s closer than it appears
Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Games in hand mean more at the top of the league than at the bottom. At the top you’re more likely to win so you can consider a game in hand being possibly favourable. At the bottom, you’re more likely to lose, so game in hand does not look as favourable.SalisburyClaret wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 4:46 pmBrighton and Newcastle have a game in hand on us so it’s closer than it appears

To be honest mate I still think Fulham will go down with the other 2 no hopers, its a gallant effort by Fulham and everyone is saying Fulham are to good to go down a bit like when Blackpool was every ones second team and they got some great results .....but still went down....with 39 pts

If we get relegated from our position now 30 points with 10 games to play we will deserve to go down...I'm sure we can muster 6 or 7 points out of a possible 30...stop worrying we ain't leaving the Premier league this season

Yeah I think Fulham still have a lot to do but they’ve given themselves a fighting chance. Newcastle seem in turmoil though so with both clubs heading in opposite directions they’re in a spot of bother.Steve1956 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 07, 2021 5:18 pmTo be honest mate I still think Fulham will go down with the other 2 no hopers, its a gallant effort by Fulham and everyone is saying Fulham are to good to go down a bit like when Blackpool was every ones second team and they got some great results .....but still went down....with 39 pts
