Outstanding.
Re: Brownhill
Agreed, he's been on just about everything today.
Re: Brownhill
A player we can build around. His pressing is absolutely superb. Still work to do with his pass selection and composure but this is the level of player we should be looking to add in the summer. As we have done previously with Pope and Taylor.

Beat me too it. Top performance, still lacked that bit more quality on the ball but I’m certain that it will come. He was top drawer today!jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 7:28 pmAbsolutely superb this evening.

I've not been convinced up to now and I do know sometimes he's been stuck out of his comfort zone, but today fair play, he was superb.

Ditto, thought he was great today, hard to mark him against 50m players he comes up against most weeks. He’s good enough for us any wayDark Cloud wrote: ↑Sat Mar 13, 2021 7:32 pmI've not been convinced up to now and I do know sometimes he's been stuck out of his comfort zone, but today fair play, he was superb.

Once he gets more confident with his shooting he’s going to worth a lot of money. Hopefully we’ll have him for a couple of seasons until then.

What a strange performance for someone ‘not good enough for the Prem’...
On a serious note he was everywhere, really notice his interceptions now I know he’s got leading stats for the league.

Played very well tonight.
Re: Brownhill
Even when he plays below par he always putscacshift in and for that I will never call a player however when putting a shift in merges with skill, composure, team play you get what we saw tonight and Dyche saw before we signed him. So pleased for him.
Re: Brownhill
He was excellent tonight. Some of the work he does isn't always recognised by many.

Showed tonight why West Ham - Wolves - Palace etc etc etc are covetting him .... Grows every game he plays ... Central midfield his prefered role for me ...
Again keeps sticking 2 fingers up to his doubters

But one great performance every 10 games does not make him a world beater

As was said during commentary the opening goal by Wood came as a result of tenacity shown by Brownhill.
Won't count as an assist though

Re: Brownhill
well you cant lose then can you, berate him in one instance and highlight his ability the next. As for only being good one in ten games, why stop at him. There was a similar post not long ago suggesting McNeil was a flop. I rather doubt the football audiences in the UK will care to analyse that tonight and agree he is a dud.
Name one player who hasn't been slammed on here in recent times. Its all about collective performances and timing. That's why we employ Dyche.

Re: Brownhill
I wonder how many on here who are saying that Brownhill is not up to PL level would be unhappy if we let him go at the end of this season for what we paid for him?
It would certainly please a host of PL managers who are said to be admirers.

Re: Brownhill
He’s been playing out of position on right hand side because we were down to the bare bones,it doesn’t suit him but he doesn’t complain and does a job.
He’s a central midfielder and when plays there alongside Westwood as been superb
Boysie you need to look at the bigger picture before slagging off good players

Re: Brownhill
I was disappointed we had lost Cork today. I think he’s been great since coming back. Then Brownhill plays like that!!! Really don’t know who I’d pick to partner Westwood at the minute.
Re: Brownhill
Difficult one, but, when everyone is fit what's our midfield 2 from 3. Westwood, Cork and Brownhill ?
Re: Brownhill
Really the other week couldn't pass the ball

Re: Brownhill
I was thinking about this the other day and with no disrespect to Westwood I’d play Brownhill and Cork
but that’s what we need the bench full of players that you want to play but can’t fit in the team.
Re: Brownhill
Cork and Westwood are our best two but it's great we have Brownhill to step in for either of those or alternatively at RM given how fragile we can be in that position

Re: Brownhill
Brownhill had his worst pass completion of the season yesterday...
Obviously had a great game, lots of intensity and made things happen. Think a lot of the criticism of him was unfair, claiming he wasn't PL standard was nonsense then and certainly is now. Definitely wasted when he's out right and it doesn't allow him to play to his strengths of breaking up play and getting the ball to our more creative players quickly, instead the onus on him is to get crosses and shots in which he's struggled with more.

Re: Brownhill
He doesn't have to be a world beater, just good enough for Burnley, and he is.
I was always surprised by the Sky banner showing him to be top on interceptions, so yesterday I kept a particular eye out for this, and he does. He reads the play excellently, and cuts out lots of passes, in the right areas of the pitch, to make himself a real asset to the team. So much good work that could easily go unnoticed.

Re: Brownhill
Played very well yesterday, as did every single player. Brownhill has slotted into the team really well - let’s not forget he was dropped in the deep end somewhat. His distribution needs to improve, as does his contribution in the final third but I’m pretty confident that will come. He’s made the step up really well.
He’s still yet to play in front of our fans too which is something for both parties to look forward to.

Re: Brownhill
Top for interceptions, ran the fastest, ran the furthest, won the ball in crucial areas leading to a goal, man of the match contender, all in the last two games.
Seems to be settling in quite nicely.
