30 more points
If we win the next 10 games and collect 30 more points, we could still finish second ! After 19 games I predicted we would finish on 55 points but am on target at the moment for 52 points because of the home draws v Fulham and WBA. So I now need 22 points from the next 10 games. Any chance ?

I don’t normally admit it but this is exactly how I tend to think as well!MT03ALG wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 11:19 pmIf we win the next 10 games and collect 30 more points, we could still finish second ! Re: 30 more points
22 points would mean 7 wins and a draw, I think that would be optimistic and I'm normally a glass half full guy.
Top end I could see 5 wins (Everton, Newcastle, Fulham, Leeds & Sheff Utd, 2 draws (Southampton & Wolves) defeats to Man U & Liverpool, and the West Ham game could go either way.
But even that is optimistic for me, I'd be happy if we get 42-45 points at season's end.

Re: 30 more points
With the point against Arsenal and the 3 points today, my prediction of 55 points is now almost back on track. Now on track for 54 points.
Re: 30 more points
I think we will get 50 but too many matches close together will stop us getting more.MT03ALG wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 11:19 pmIf we win the next 10 games and collect 30 more points, we could still finish second ! We are very good!
Above all those with nothing to play for lose their edge.
We don't. All credit to our mentality.

Re: 30 more points
We now have a three week break followed by 4 games in April and 5 games in May, all reasonably well spread out. Hopefully our injured players will recover in time for the final push towards 55 points and a top ten finish.

Re: 30 more points
At last a genuinely confident post. I’m not sure about 50 points but genuinely believe well over 40. Our points per game average tells exactly the same story and nothing, repeat nothing, is going on to suggest that is going to get worse. Overall points per game so far, including our dreadful start, is over 1 and everything pointing to that either continuing or getting better. We are now on 33 with 9 to play. Even if our average dropped to 1 per game that would give us 43. Why the fck are people still talking relegation? It just isn’t happening.

Equal on points and goal difference with Southampton now and chasing Wolves, Leeds, Palace and Arsenal for 10th. spot in the table.

Re: 30 more points
Surely yesterday's result should have put any lingering relegation fears firmly to bed, and we've got Southampton, Wolves & Leeds still to play, as well as Fulham, Newcastle & Sheff Utd, and I wouldn't completely rule us out of causing a surprise or two in the Liverpool, Utd or West Ham games, we showed yesterday that on our day we can ruffle the feathers of the better teams.houseboy wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 2:24 amAt last a genuinely confident post. Even being fairly conservative I'd fully expect 12-15 points from our remaining fixtures, and with a fair wind we could be looking at finishing 11th, which given our snail like start would represent another solid season at this level, and give us a decent base to build on for next season.

Re: 30 more points
I would be genuinely disappointed if we don’t reach 43 as a minimum. And today’s win for Brighton means we are close to overtaking a woeful Southampton. Apart from the bottom three there are 3 others in danger and none of them are us. Southampton have an identical record to us but their form is not even in the same league.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 14, 2021 3:07 pmSurely yesterday's result should have put any lingering relegation fears firmly to bed, and we've got Southampton, Wolves & Leeds still to play, as well as Fulham, Newcastle & Sheff Utd, and I wouldn't completely rule us out of causing a surprise or two in the Liverpool, Utd or West Ham games, we showed yesterday that on our day we can ruffle the feathers of the better teams.

Re: 30 more points
After 7 games we had 2 points. Since then we have played 22 games and won 31 points. That averages just over 1.4 points per game. If we can maintain that average for the last 9 games that will take us to around 45/46 points. No reason why we can’t achieve that.

Re: 30 more points
We were ravaged with injuries in February and now we are back to full strength I would like to think we could kick on and maybe reach 47 pts.
47pts would put us in touch with Wolves and Leeds fighting for the 12th spot finish

Re: 30 more points
That's a real bummer today .
I can't see us getting more than 6 points out of a possible 21 .Total 39 .
If we lose at Fulham that's 36.
Could Fulham possibly get 8 points from their other 5 games ? ( If they beat us )
I've got the prayer mat out but I just can't see us beating anyone other than Fulham and Sheff U .I've got to be wrong !! Same for some others around us I suppose .

Re: 30 more points
I am now hoping for 2 more points with draws at Fulham and Sheffield United. We have forgotten how to win games at home so hopefully 2 more away points would see us safe on 35 points. It might be a godsend that Fulham play Newcastle on the last day of the season.
