West Ham's Mark Noble to retire end of 21/22 season.

Under rated player a lot of the time, but he's decided to retire at the end of next season, which will make it 18yrs at West Ham, his only club (loans aside).

Hard to believe he was never capped by England at senior level.

Not sure he's actually retiring, he just says it'll be his last season as a West Ham player? Sounds like he's leaving his options open.

the more interesting news from West Ham today is their 2019/20 financial results and their £120m loan from MSD UK

I think we was once called up, but it was the week of his testimonial match.

Not sure if he’s been called up again since though

I was just thinking yeah, if he could be half as good as the last Noble we had, that would be great, then I remembered Ryan Noble !

A good player who's had a very respectable if unremarkable career, I wonder if he will look back and wonder if he could have achieved more had he left West Ham.

Possibly he could have, but in this era it's refreshing that a player still has loyalty to the one club.

And West Ham will miss him when he hangs up his boots, he's been an invaluable member of their squad through all their various up's and down's, and characters like him are becoming rarer in the game alas.

You do wonder if he'll considering taking his coaching badges in the near future, I've no doubt West Ham would find him a role if he so desired he's a club legend after all.

I signed him for Sunderland on Football Manager for a season, at about his age now, he didn't do much, a bit past it ;)

He has been a great servant for them, always liked him and comes across as a very committed player and decent bloke.

Yep! our equivalent would be Ben Mee, and both have been great ambassadors for their respective clubs on and off the pitch for a long period.

A good, solid player is Mark Noble, plus a good captain for West Ham.

A loyal stay for 18 years but I feel this loyalty comes from the fact no higher team ever came in to sign rather than him choosing to stay. Plus speaks for why he never got selected for England, a good player but mid table/lower league level at best.
