Truly outstanding
Despite Moss and Co that was a bloody incredible performance given the circumstance
Man of the match is almost impossible
That first 45 mins was the best I've seen from us for a very long time

Re: Truly outstanding
Never in doubt tonight our name was on the three points. Well played Clarets and two great goals .
Re: Truly outstanding
Best performance of the season. Liverpool was an amazing result, but this was a better performance, and of course, an under eleven's side would win at Anfield right now.
Re: Truly outstanding
Taking 5 points from Arsenal, Leicester and Everton is a great bag of points. Before the games, I was hoping for 1, maybe 2 points. Great performances lately by the team, and more enjoyable to watch too.

Re: Truly outstanding
Always thought so.
I also thought Mee should be a centre half and wardy should be the left back.
I’m a God damned genius. Seriously tho, they were excellent and the goals sublime. Had bale scored that second you’d be sick of watching it by now on sky.

Been to watch us so many times at Everton and the game to be over and us beaten really early in the game, gutted the daughter and I could not be there today to see that win. Great performance

Re: Truly outstanding
Fantastic tonight and the scoreline should have been more convincing. That was the performance of a very good premier league side.

Absolutely no comparison to our performance v WBA. When the "right" Burnley turn up we are a match for most teams

Re: Truly outstanding
Nick being booked for time wasting, what the hell was he thinking, we were totally on top and if he had hoofed it up field to Woods we could have easily had another what was he thinking................... God I'm bored, we should have been 3 or 4 up before they scored, which was a great goal by the way, we were absolutely brilliant in that first half and nobody has anything to whinge about after that performance.

Not only that, but it'll be at least three weeks before they can moan about our performance!
One proud happy clapper tonight!

Re: Truly outstanding
A team with top four ambitions, money no object owner, an elite manager and every expensive squad; they were though second best.

First half reminded me of Wolves away in 2008, totally dominant.

Re: Truly outstanding
That first half was the best we have played in the top flight - just wish we could play like that for 15 games a season
Re: Truly outstanding
Agree completely with the opening post. It was sensational football. They were playing a technical game I haven’t seen in a long time from our boys, moving in triangles all over the pitch. And the high press was unbelievable.

Never thought I'd live to hear Jamie Carragher say on commentary that Burnley were "playing just like Brazil" and were even wearing the same colour shirts.

Re: Truly outstanding
Just read that Sean Dyche has lost his brother in law - aged 46 this week.
What an even bigger feat this performance was given what he must have been going through with his family.
What a manager- we’re so lucky to have him.

On the performance - we’ve had a few this season. Leicester, Palace, Arsenal in patches. That was the best by far. Joy to watch (if a bit nerve wracking since we didn’t put it to bed) with the press and the build up play. Long may it continue.
Re: Truly outstanding
Watched live on NBC in Florida. Robbie Mustoe was in the studio and in his half time analysis he compared us to Barcelona and he was being serious. Said it was the best Burnley performance ( first half) he had ever seen. I have to agree with him. Some of our 1 touch passing was breathtaking. Tbh I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. Oh and that goal ! Speechless ! What a great weekend so far

Re: Truly outstanding
But there will still be some saying 3 more points to safety. Safety has not been an issue for months. The issue is how high we can finish. As I have been saying for weeks.
Re: Truly outstanding
It's a good win no doubt, BUT!
Everton's home form is awful. They've lost at home to Fulham and Newcastle amongst others. The latter got praise for adopting an attacking set up and I wonder if that influenced our methods yesterday.

Re: Truly outstanding
Don't mind admitting I could be perseived as being that doom monger, simply because so many times I'm left frustrated by the fact we always have this performance in there, but so often doesn't come to fruition, IMHO there's a very definite reason we're seeing it in the recent games, we've found our best front two, I like so many others have been calling for vydra to get a run of games, he enables us to play higher up the pitch and gives us so much, he didn't give Everton back line 2 minutes piece but that in turn brought others in to play, long may it continue, and fingers crossed the his goals will come. Superb performance utc's.
