The epoch of our Queen
The epoch of our Queen
Each epoch is defined by the reign of the English Monarch.
This is how it is.
What do you think our 'Elizabethan Period' will be known for and called and why?
I think it will come to be known as The Reign of The Plover Wing, where our rivals were invited on to our lands in a dangerous game of Risk? Othello?
BMW not Riley etc.
William The Conqueror won 1066 by feigning defeat and letting the enemy come at them, hence the naming of our epoch as The Reign of The Plover Wing.

The naughty boy period...the men recently in that family are charlatans
Re: The epoch of our Queen
I've just been looking at an SUV that looks like Meghan Markle, in the same way that they used to try and make a Ford Thunderbird look like a film star.
Computer match face-features maybe?

Re: The epoch of our Queen
Hopefully history will see it as the era of the last royal but unfortunately I don’t believe that will be the case.

For most of my life I have agreed with that, now I honestly don’t care. This year has changed a lot of things for me

Yes and welcome to the era of likes of President Corbyn or Blair.
I would say that you haven't travelled abroad a great deal particularly on business (as your name suggests) and therefore dont recognize the value of the queen and how she is held in great esteem by many foreign authorities.

Re: The epoch of our Queen
I fail to see how you come to any conclusions about me through a user name, that is nonsensical. I have travelled extensively and know many ‘foreigners’ who can’t understand how we put up with such an anachronistic establishment. And I assume the names you use for president in such a way makes you a rampant Tory? Why not president Johnson or Thatcher? Or would that not suit your insult.Stayingup wrote: ↑Fri Mar 19, 2021 10:47 pmYes and welcome to the era of likes of President Corbyn or Blair.

Re: The epoch of our Queen
just one step sideways make anyone with sense realise how we are all duped by this farce. Billionaires protected by governments ad infinitum. quite pathetic when you consider it. and the modern stories are akin to shitty gossip columns at their very worst. millions live and die in squalor and war, and we are encouraged to celebrate people who own the very lands we live on. the recent prince harry /sharon osbourne panto shows how far down the sewer we have descended.
Re: The epoch of our Queen
Did you know there is a direct correlation between people who like the Queen, people that like brexit, and people that like Mrs Browns boys.
This doesn’t apply to everyone but statistically speaking you are far mor likely to like all 3 rather than one

Re: The epoch of our Queen
I think the latter part of her reign has seen the demise of satirical comedy and free speech.
British satirical comedy used to be able to access all areas.....now one wrong word can end a comedian’s career.
Free speech is dead.
No one of significance can afford to make a private comment off the record.....someone with a mobile phone will record it.
Any views that are slightly off centre, or breech one of the ever changing unwritten rules about how we refer to other members of society, will be pounced upon and no doubt result in the end of a career.

On the contrary, my guess is that the Sax Coburgs want a United Europe and to go back to Germany as the head of it.
