I'm guessing they've done this to reduce the numbers travelling

Kade Ratchford? A name I've not seen previously (unless I've just missed it).

He signed a two-year scholarship in the summer of 2020.

Signed at 14 years-old from Manchester United, has impressed throughout his time with the Clarets.

He is an attacking midfielder, who featured for Tony Philliskirk's side last season and has an eye for goal.

The youngster scored his first goal for the U18s against Manchester United in September 2020.

On Flashscore it's still showing a booking on 14 mins but with no name, so maybe it wasn't actually a card??

On paper that's a very good team we've got out and there's no Taranis (presumably injured) or the lads out of loan like Thomas and Goodridge. (Bound to lose 3-0 now!!!)

That'll do. Good win for the youngsters.

Up to third, but teams around us have games in hand.

Good to see recent results for the younger teams (last night's result apart) going well and coinciding with better performances from the 1st team too - can't do the atmosphere at the training ground any harm. Also, great to see the way the u23's have really grown into this season after an uncertain start at a much higher level.

We found it tough initially in 2017 when we went up to Cat 2 and only a late rally at the end of that season prevented the under-23s from finishing bottom. They improved significantly over the next two years but I really expected this season to be very difficult so we've done better than I imagined.

The u23s have an advantage over the u18s though, the u23 league is in two divisions with the expected better teams in Div 1, the under18 league is regional so we have the two Manchester clubs and two Liverpool clubs etc in our league.

But the progress is good, just a shame that the one match I've been able to see at u18 level was last night.

Are the 'semi-finals' 2 legged and how is the venue for the 'final' decided?

One leg semi finals

2nd (home) v 5th (away)
3rd (home) v 4th (away)

One leg final

home team will be the one who finished highest in the league
