Photo looks horrid but I used to train with Dave Lewis and in warm up he would stand up with the soles of both feet touching. Pretty much the same as the photo.
I know warming up and in action are different but hopefully it is only the 3 weeks mentioned higher up.

Yes, we used to do something similar, but it's different when you are not prepared for it. Tendon damage perhaps?
