The players walking past you whilst you're having your tea looks stupid to me.

Stadium looks great. Will be windier than Stoke there tho...

I think they've missed a big opportunity there, given the location.
I think there should be an extra tier on the land-side of the stadium for an extra 10,000 home fans to have a good sea view.

I suppose it is what is now called progress but it is the loss of yet another traditional football ground.

Re: Everton get Gov approval for new stadium
Impressive video, but how are 58,000 people going to arrive and leave from one side ?
Or is there a tunnel under the Mersey ?
Or is there a tunnel under the Mersey ?

There's the local 'Alpe D-Duez' hillclimb classic east of Burnley, Mytholme Steeps to Blackshaw Head and they say the easy parts are the 1 in 3 bits before you get above the tree-line.
Re: Everton get Gov approval for new stadium
If Wallace and Gromit bought season tickets... No need for rattles you might think and then you realize he will be the only person in the stadium with teeth.

I get headaches trying to understand wtf Pstotto is talking about I read his comments 3-4 times before smiling, shaking my head and closing the thread, I just haven’t a clue what he’s talking about, it might as well be Dutch

Not sure whether I’m happy I got a Like from that character...

I think what Burnley 1989 is trying to say, is that he's still got hair and playing with his dad's fluorescent toy cars, like Hawky the Humber and Little Minx and Singy Vogue and hopefully he's still got the green specs that come with them so that you can see them in 3D.

They’ve little option. Goodison is in a terrible state now and needs major work but it’s hardly possible because of where it is situated. Traditional it might be, and I love it despite its state, but they can’t progress at all playing there.Cirrus_Minor wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 7:10 pmI suppose it is what is now called progress but it is the loss of yet another traditional football ground.

Surely the better option would be to ground share with Liverpool for 2 seasons and redevelop Goodison...ClaretTony wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 8:04 pmThey’ve little option. That genuinely sounds like a plan, what a p1ss up.
Re: Everton get Gov approval for new stadium
Certainly for an early season match. Nice weather, a stop at every pub and a nice relaxing trip. Parking may be an issue though!

Those corporate tickets that dine in the players viewing area will cost a bob or two. Anybody any idea how much City charge who offer a similar experience?

One of the few grounds I’ve never visited for one reason or another, despite have Toffee’s who are friends. Will have to make sure I correct that before the move. Like Wolves, even when I set off break downs en-route having done everything from the Goldstone Ground to Maidenhead United it seems strange I’m missing a local ground.

I would imagine £12,000 will be for a party of 12 for one match, they no doubt sell out every home game

Once did that for the Grand National from Skipton. It was an experience though not one I'd necessarily want to repeat.

Re: Everton get Gov approval for new stadiumMersyey
There are two tunnels under the Mersey but that won’t make any difference - the traffic will be an absolute nightmare, particularly as the council has, for some insane reason, seen fit to narrow the already overly congested road along the front past the Liver Building.Nonayforever wrote: ↑Fri Mar 26, 2021 7:14 pmImpressive video, but how are 58,000 people going to arrive and leave from one side ?

It’s also going to make it virtually impossible for me to get in and out of the car park I use at work for two years while their building it!

The people flow will be guided by airport security, like Wembley.

Scouse claret I did say in about 2014 was it? Celtic Premier League, but you have go by boat and the fans have got to build them first. We're not having that rabble going from Scotland to Cardiff through England to get there.

One I only attended recently...though it gets rubbished for poor Views etc. Got served pretty quick on the concourse.and a good vibe in and around the ground ....plenty of eating options and a proper football ground imo.elwaclaret wrote: ↑Sat Mar 27, 2021 11:34 amOne of the few grounds I’ve never visited for one reason or another, despite have Toffee’s who are friends. Re: Everton get Gov approval for new stadium
It is truly a ground from a bygone age. Every time I go into the concourse I’m astonished it gets a safety certificate, particularly when you think it’s entirely made of wood. The sight lines from the Lower Bullens are shocking and there are posts everywhere.
...and yet I’m really going to miss it when it’s gone.

When Leeds comes they'll still have some canal songs...
"Yeah Bob

Yeah Bob
Bielse."

True Blues that they are...

You know that kind of singing, final match on Sunday afternoon football TV in the 70s at Cambridge or Southend v. Rovers and it's Martin Tyler with a monotonous drone in the background.
Re: Everton get Gov approval for new stadium
Everton are on an away trip to leeds and they stop of at Nelson and visit a cafe and with each bun you eat, they have a wrap with a word of friendly advice in the rice paper and it says "When you've gone through Barrawford Locks and you're busing making your cookies for the cycle stop-off round trip round the Dales, don't put nutmeg into the mix instead of ginger powder because when you go past Ingleborough, it might look back at you with a one-eyed stare in your coffee."

I think there's just that one.

Goodison Park Destruction Story
As a goodbye gesture Everton invite Leeds for the final match at Goodison.
The kick-off had to be delayed for a few hours because the army of Leeds fans got lost after their Sat Nav went down due to police helicopter work in the Lancashire area.
Apparently they got lost and ended up at Ewood Park.

Re: Everton get Gov approval for new stadium
Before the Hitchen bridge was built between Woolston and Southampton they had a ferry on rails going over the river Itchen. Can still see today where it used to dock both ends of the river.
If some kind of ferry could be used for Evertons new ground some money good certainly be made.
