Brady & Hendrick both on the bench for ROI

Post by tiger76 » Sat Mar 27, 2021 7:21 pm

Must win game for the Irish you feel even this early in the qualifying campaign, if you are a glass half full person they did at least manage to score twice in Serbia which is a notable improvement on their recent outings.

Robbie puts a delightful first time cross in with his right foot. Why can’t he do that for us?

4 crosses from Brady. 3 found there man who put them wide. Best of the lot was missed by everyone.
Luxembourg captain very lucky to still be on. On a yellow fouls Knight, rolls around screaming, then isn’t red carded.

Brady looks sharp which is good news for us. Same old story for Ireland no cutting edge.

Awful Ireland. Side full of Championship players and some of them aren't even starters.
Hard times for them for years to come.

Lost 1-0 at home to Luxembourg, a truly embarrassing result for them.

It’s daft that they can have an isle of Ireland rugby team but not the same at football.

Luxembourg aren't as bad as they used to be by any stretch, but this is the worst Irish side in yonks. Bottom end Championship side.

How can it be a good cross if it didn't reach a teammate?

You’d need to see it. A beauty at head height across the 6 yard line and the muppets couldn’t get a head on it.

So it was inaccurate then?

Robbie did well when he came on , now as the the team goodness this is a new low which kind of on the same level as the 2-5 loss to Cyprus

Brady is a low grade player that offers little with either foot

Brady was probably their best player. Their little purple patch looks well and truly over now. Why on earth they pushed McCarthy out early I don’t know but I wonder if they will ever win a game with Kenny in charge.

They just haven’t got a goal scorer of any standard and haven’t got one coming through. Kenny not the best choice but even the great managers would struggle with this squad.

They lost Jon Walters who scored some key goals for them but they’ve not even threatened to replace Robbie Keane. Having said that, how do you replace Robbie Keane?

As for Brady, his delivery of the ball from wide areas was excellent. If that had been a Burnley game with the likes of Wood, Barnes or Rodriguez in the middle then it would have been a different story.
