Should have been a penalty there. Foden was pushed over

Re: England vs Poland
There’s no Var.
It’s great isn’t it.
Even tho Foden should have been awarded a pe and the ref clearly bottled it, the decision was made straight away, we know where we all stand and we get on with the game.

Disgraceful decision
I'd rather lose than cheat in this manner
Sterling is a shameless two hat

I agree. Personally I’d be happy to not get some subjective decisions against us if it meant the game progressed.
I’d still like to see VAR for violent conduct and offside (if they applied the tech right of course), and I’d also be happy for retrospective punishment for stuff not picked up during the game.

Clever play, but don't think we've attacked them enough other than then.
Re: England vs Poland
Var can be scrapped completely as far as I’m concerned. There are linesmen (and women) for offsides. Violent conduct, diving, etc can be dealt with retrospectivelyZlatan wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 8:04 pmI agree. He is a simple cheat. Nothing else to be said.
Disgrace to the shirt.
True fans need to start a campaign together him blocked from playing for England ever again.

Re: England vs Poland
If that gets given against you, you are fuming.
That’s how to measure whether the contact was enough to send him sprawling.
Sadly, he’s a cheat.
Oooohhhh there was contact.
Oooohhhh he’s entitled to go down.
Oooohhhh he earned that.
It’s all cheating.

It’d help if the defenders stopped pinning him into tight areas on his left foot.

You type like you've never seen Pope play before.
Re: England vs Poland
It was a hospital pass in the first place. Why criticise Pope for the person who screwed up the pass to him?

Re: England vs Poland
Sterling went to ground rather easily, but it was a daft tackle for the defender to make, I'd say it ranks in the softer category of pens, but when you dive in rashly like that you're always running the risk of the ref giving something which he did.
What was pleasing from an England POV was the pressure to win the ball back to set up that attack that led to the spot kick.
Pope looking dodgy with his kicking again, it's definitely an area he'll have to improve upon to remain 1st choice like it or not.

He was clattered. It’s a penalty all day long. Can’t believe it’s even being questioned.

Re: England vs Poland
Surprise surprise everyone... Nick Pope isnt that great at kicking... hey! Why don’t we highlight it on here like it’s the latest news when he makes a less than perfect kick? Let’s do it after EVERY kick eh?
That’d be good wouldn’t it?
Wouldnt it?
Ffs, come on boys and girls.

Don't go on social media. Only 1% of people who post on social media during a game, know what day it is.

Does it bother anyone else that kane seems to drop during pretty much every play? Hes a focal point and yes he does it well occassionally but it seems to be during every build up phase.

The commentator said earlier “he was guilty of staying on his feet at the weekend when he could have gone down”
Can’t remember which player he was talking about but what a stupid thing to say

Also a bit surprised how deep Kane tends to drop.
The semi final against Croatia he ended up playing the anchor role for reason when we needed a goal.

Agreed. Cheating ,and accepting cheating as something other than what it is has become so normal, it’s accepted.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 8:29 pmThe commentator said earlier “he was guilty of staying on his feet at the weekend when he could have gone down”

Apparently, those who do it are demonstrating an extraordinary will to win that only elite sportspeople have.

Re: England vs Poland
Yes it bothers me also, your main striker should be in or around the box, that's where he'll score goals, I've never known any CF to score when sat on the halfway line, it didn't work when England tried it with Rooney, and it won't work with Harry Kane either, get in the box man.WazzaClaret wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 8:19 pmDoes it bother anyone else that kane seems to drop during pretty much every play? Re: England vs Poland
Since when has drawing a foul been cheating? Sterling has every right to protect the ball. If the opposing player chooses to slide to win the ball then he has to take the man and not the ball otherwise he will be quite rightly penalised.welsbyswife wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 8:36 pmProbably the thing I hate most about modern football punditry. Top assists this season in the Premier League suggest Kane is just as dangerous dropping deep to help the team score as he is stood in the boxtiger76 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 8:36 pmYes it bothers me also, your main striker should be in or around the box, that's where he'll score goals, I've never known any CF to score when sat on the halfway line, it didn't work when England tried it with Rooney, and it won't work with Harry Kane either, get in the box man.
