The Detectives Fighting organised crime
Anyone catch this last night on BBC 1,pretty gripping stuff right on our doorstep, and what a magnificent ending the sentence handed out was a proper one,and quite lengthy and merited.
One definitely not to be missed.

Re: The Detectives Fighting organised crime
Yes it was a brilliant watch as was the one the week before about the fellas who got tortured.
All though the main man who pulled the trigger got 36 years, I was disappointed with the sentences handed out to the other gang members of whom only received a couple of years.
The only positives to take is that inocent members of the public are not involved in these crimes, the guy who got shot would more than likely have done the same to the guy who shot him

Really good series.
Some absolute maniacs out on our streets.
No sign of Jasper Carrott and Robert Powell though. I think they'd have provided a much needed comic touch.

Re: The Detectives Fighting organised crime
Just watched both. Good viewing but quite disturbing that these types are amongst us.
The one thing bugging me about the 2nd episode is the guy was ordered to bring back Antoine. But when he got out the van to deliver the drugs, the gunman runs straight past him to the van to shoot Lee. After shooting him he then chases Antoine for a short while with a couple of shots fired but gives up.
Why?
I suppose we will never know with all the No comments.

That Paris Bostock fancied himself a lot in the first episode, such a shame someone didn't drop him

The woman detective DS Julie Connor is a neighbour of mine. I knew she worked with the murder squad in Manchester but never realised just how tough and violent her job can be.

Just watched the first one on catch up,Paris would take some dropping he was a pretty big aggressive unit, although at one point when he was about to be charged he turned into a vulnerable 4 year old boy when he started picking his nose and eating it, we live in violent times...but it's pretty gripping television.claretonthecoast1882 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 3:33 pmThat Paris Bostock fancied himself a lot in the first episode, such a shame someone didn't drop him

Well next time you see her washing the car you can tell her I thought she was remarkably. No idea how she stood up to him and didn’t flinch!
Think your street must be pretty safe

Re: The Detectives Fighting organised crime
Watching this and the 24 hours in Police Custody series, the 'Custody Suite' process is less intimidating than checking into a Premier Inn. It really does portray how it's the poor Copper that has their hands tied and not the criminals.
Compulsive viewing but it's of concern that things will only ever get worse as society continues to degrade.

Yeah he is a big lad, only he will know if he is as brave without his weapons or goons alongside him when outnumbering someone or mouthing at a female knowing nobody there can touch you.
Something about him tells me he will be a lot less a gob**** inside prison

Re: The Detectives Fighting organised crime
Anyone know what's happening with this series? From what I've found there are five episodes but it wasn't on last night and I can't find any reference to when episode 3 is scheduled.

Strange to have a delay in the middle of a series.
Have they given a reason?
