I agree having Burns and Sibley opening isn't the answer, maybe get Crawley to open full time then slot Vince at three. Bairstow has had a fair few chances at test level, trouble is all our very good players want to bat at 4/5/6. Big summer for Pope to cement his Ashes spot.

Sussex 38-0 at the close, proving a tougher nut to crack 2nd time around, but Lancs still in control of proceedings heading into day 4.

Yes shame about the weather over the last couple of days, Lancs could well have pushed for victory, still a decent performance first up, big runs for the skipper, and wickets for Bailey and Mahmood offers promise for the rest of the campaign.
