Bit OTT by the BBC completely shutting down TV and radio for the rest of the day. Do we really need BBC news channel and 1 and 2 showing the same tributes? They've even stopped the live updates from the Masters and the county championship on the app.
Massively OTT
Then you see this....

R.I.P Prince Philip.
The Can-Do Royal who contributed an awful lot to the country.
Personally, I always loved his gaffs.
An exceptionally positive man throughout a long and, productive life.

They've even cancelled live coverage of the Hearts-Alloa match tonight on BBC Scotland, this is getting ridiculous now.
As sad as Philip's death is the world can't stop turning.

R.I.P Phil. Sadly can't see the Queen being far behind. 73 years married? That'll hit her hard. Seen many pass away within week or months of each other.

Perhaps its because this doesn't happen very often. Last time a British Queens husband died was 160 years ago.

Indeed, and of course you're not even allowed to suggest that the death of a 99 year old man whom you never met doesn't really affect you that much. God forbid!

Perhaps suggesting & being damn right disrespectful in some quarters might be considered distasteful at this present time, it’s very raw right now with some people still grieving.

Yes, quite right that the royals should be allowed to grieve, however, why it needs wall to wall coverage on all the main channels, I can't quite fathom.

Probably best if you give this thread a swerve.

Hollyoaks is on Ch4. So that's not true and quite ironically is full of wall to wall totty. Which I think Big Phil would approve.

The next few days should reveal an awful lot about the state of this country.

Surely you're not implying that the country could be mawkish, sycophantic and nationalistic, are you?
