That will be a nail in their confidence. Players walking off in tears. Not a good sign...for them anyway You have to look at the keeper for that one. Should never be beat from there at that angle..it went right through him.

That chance with about the last kick sums Fulham up.
Reckon that's it for them.
They're down.

His first goal in 16 months, the commentator just said. That surprises me.

Good chance of the points being shared between Burnley and Newcastle now.

another london ponce club , spent a fortune, adored by the press and hopefully getting relegated.
great goal to win it having been robbed by VAR of an earlier goal.

Fulham have 6 games to play, 4 are away, at Arsenal, Chelsea, Southampton and Man Utd.
2 at home, against us and Newcastle.
How many points will they get from those?

I’m not aspiring to that. I just think that both teams would likely be satisfied with a draw. That’s not to say that we can’t or shouldn’t do better, just that tonight’s result changes the picture slightly.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 10:09 pmIs this what we aspire to now?
let other results dictate our future?
Why can't we just go out and batter a really poor Newcastle side?

I know, I'm just sick of this horrible season. There have been plenty on here who started looking over their shoulder and estimating minimal points for survival after a handful of games.
This is not what football should be about.

You have to feel a little sorry for Fulham. Well at least I do.
To lose with virtually the last kick of the game must be demoralising.
I think they've played some decent football over the last couple of months
and been on losing end of a few games by one goal.
But if this loss helps keep us up and help me feel better about our chances
then I suppose my sympathy for them doesn't last too long.
A win against Newcastle should be the icing on the cake.

I know what you mean. Unfortunately being towards the bottom of the table leaves you looking over your shoulder. I’ve been sure that we would stay up for some time now, however I was still happy to see Wolves score because the sooner we can start worrying about ‘what if’ the sooner we can relax.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 10:23 pmI know, I'm just sick of this horrible season. A win on Sunday will almost certainly leave us with enough points although it’s quite likely that a draw also will. Had Fulham won, Newcastle would have come to Turf Moor going all out for a win - which likely would lead to a win for either side. I think this result will see a more cautious approach from them and it wouldn’t surprise me to see it result in a draw.

Re: Fulham v Wolves
Agree with the posters above this season has been a chore, but as long as we stay in this league, and then hopefully sign a few rough diamonds this summer, plus of course keep hold of SD it'll all have been worth it.
It has been a bizarre season in many ways, but the main thing is we have come through the other side, and are now in a position to rebuild on and off the pitch post-covid, and all being well next season will be a much more positive affair.

Re: Fulham v Wolves
2 points from the first 8 games made it inevitable that this season would not be much fun. I remember thinking at that point, and may even have posted on here, that Dyche would merit a statue if he kept us up so bleak did things look. There have been some good moments this season. notably :
- Arsenal A
- Villa H
- Liverpool A
- Everton A
but that terrible start, together with the lack of fans, has made it a slog. That result tonight is a huge boost and, whilst I also think a draw is now more likely on Sunday, we can hopefully all soon breathe a sigh of relief.

Great strike and I cant believe some people blamed the keeper, he had no chance at saving it.
I for one will be gutted if we throw more points away on Sunday ,nothing short of win is acceptable so we will be guaranteed to stay up.

Re: Fulham v Wolves
Their away form is OK. It's at home they have failed. Only 10 home points, so even if they win those last two home games they can't make a point a game at home over the season.
Re: Fulham v Wolves
Hoping for a good win Sunday
Newcastle are still not out of danger and their run in is very tough
Hope it goes to the final game of the season against each other

Re: Fulham v Wolves
If West Brom beat Southampton at home they will only be two points behind Fulham and depending on how our result goes could potentially be just five points behind Newcastle with seven to play.
Re: Fulham v Wolves
Fulham are doomed now. West Brom will be kicking themselves for not beating Newcastle at home.

Re: Fulham v Wolves
Fulham have scored as many goals at craven cottage this year as we have, they'll be lucky to get the 7 points to catch us out of their next 6 in my opinion (and even that relies on us going on an 8 game losing streak).

Rssse: Fulham v Wolves
Was anxious about game v NUFC, a defeat and back in trouble. Much more relaxed after that fabulous Traore goal.
Up to that point had been fuming about the great disallowed Wolves "goal" which could have been decisive at the end of the season.
Offside laws are a nonsense, haven't a clue what offside actually is, other than its spoiling a lot of games

Totally agree. A strange season, mainly because we got off to a bad start with a lot of speculation/negativity surrounding the club at the start of the season, alongside injuries and an extended transfer window bringing sore toes and the like. Without that tricky start, we may have been in a far more comfortable position.tiger76 wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 10:39 pmAgree with the posters above this season has been a chore, but as long as we stay in this league, and then hopefully sign a few rough diamonds this summer, plus of course keep hold of SD it'll all have been worth it.

I’m still not sure we’re safe as some suggest, but last night makes a draw on Sunday a decent result for both teams and it wouldn’t shock me to see either team play the game out. The priority for us now must be staying up at whatever cost, however unpretty. Then hopefully SD/ALK will have a recruitment plan for the summer that would afford us a more comfortable/exciting season next year.

I reckon it will all be over by the time we've played 34 so, in the meantime, we should really be thinking if we can catch Palace, Southampton or Wolves.

I like Fulham and Parker. And I’ve never visited Craven Cottage so would quite like them to stay up so I can try and visit next season.jurek wrote: ↑Fri Apr 09, 2021 10:25 pmYou have to feel a little sorry for Fulham. Well at least I do.

They’re a good team and were battering Wolves yesterday, but I can’t really feel sorry for a club with so many loanee’s. If they were to stay up over a club that’s invested in their own talent, I’d think there’s a certain unfairness about it.

Yep that's a pretty fair summary NC, and now that the takeover has finally gone through, and we look almost certain to still be a PL club next season , then hopefully this summer and beyond will point towards a brighter future for BFC, and also the game in general, the return of fans would be a major factor in people rediscovering their zest for the game I feel, I've watched a few games this term, and it's definitely not had the same zip to the proceedings that would normally accompany a normal PL program when the grounds are packed to the rafters, and the game definitely needs that x factor back ASAP.NewClaret wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 11:10 amTotally agree. Barring the first couple of months, we've never really looked in mortal danger, but we've also never quite put enough daylight between ourselves and the bottom 3 to totally relax, however the finishing line is most certainly in touching distance now, and a win on Sunday would probably seal the deal, and mean that we can enjoy the last 7 games and try and climb the table rather than constantly looking over our shoulders.

I agree with Rileybobs and Boatshed about this season, it’s not been great, but strangely I don’t know what I’d have done without it (and all the games being televised). I think I’d literally have gone out of my mind without the season & this board to strange to argue about ittiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 12:32 pmYep that's a pretty fair summary NC, and now that the takeover has finally gone through, and we look almost certain to still be a PL club next season , then hopefully this summer and beyond will point towards a brighter future for BFC, and also the game in general, the return of fans would be a major factor in people rediscovering their zest for the game I feel, I've watched a few games this term, and it's definitely not had the same zip to the proceedings that would normally accompany a normal PL program when the grounds are packed to the rafters, and the game definitely needs that x factor back ASAP.

Usually, when I’m attending games, I’m not allowed any further football quota, so I’ve seen a lot more of the PL than I ever have done. I’ve learned a lot more about opposition players, their systems, etc. Usually I turn up to the Turf pretty blind about the opposition, but I’m really looking forward to next year (assuming we stay up!) and watching those teams live.
I just hope we’re all back on in September, masked and vaccinated/tested up, but with full houses there to roar the boys on.

I watched the whole game and definitely wanted Wolves to win. Wolves were careless at times but I can't honestly recall any time in the game where they were being 'battered. They kept Fulham at arms length and probably Fulham missed their best chance to go ahead in the first half with a poor header from.Loftus-Cheek.

I only watched the first half on/off but in the second there only seemed one team in it to me. I thought Fulham totally dominated and pinned Wolves in their half, restricting them to a few counters. From what I saw, they never had the ball.Silkyskills1 wrote: ↑Sat Apr 10, 2021 1:21 pmI watched the whole game and definitely wanted Wolves to win. Re: Fulham v Wolves
Fulham can realistically only hope to catch Newcastle of the teams down there, and even that now looks a tall order with Newcastle having 2 games in hand, it's bizarre how the wheels have just fallen off the Fulham charge, only a few weeks ago they looked to have a genuine chance of climbing out of the mire, but they now need snookers, and they need them quickly.
It certainly eases the pressure on both Burnley & Newcastle prior to tomorrow's game that's for sure. and for that we can only be thankful.

Not seen a manager so gutted as Parker was, when that Adomah bullet of a shot went in-literally the last kick of the game. Fulham do have some very good players as and when they are relegated that may not want to stay with the club
Re: Fulham v Wolves
Like Norwich last season, teams who can't grind out results will ultimately get relegated.
That's the big issue for Fulham.
